Crested Butte Dirt
I'm back in Texas for a week after meeting the movers in GJ and getting our abundance of crap shoved into the garage.
Anyway, I'll be back up by the 1st of June and will be ready to ride by the end of the 1st week thereof. I would like to hit some of the dirt roads leading over the Grand Mesa to Paonia, ride the Kebler Pass road and to the cutoff to Schofield pass and over to Gothic and CB. I plan on grabbing a beer at the Pizza joint on Elk Ave in CB afterwards. Let me know if'n ya wanna go....

Dude, definitely go DOWN Schofield from Crested Butte to Marble and not up the "punchbowl" section, on a bike anyway! My Transalp was on its skidplate most of the way too. Also ask around to see if the glacier is melted enough to get by. Really fun ride though!

Thanks, I forgot about the pile the usually collects above the lake... I guess I'll need to let it melt before I try and ride that road.
I'll be back in GJ next week, give me a shout if you wanna ride. I don't know a soul there, 'cept for my GF.... ~Scary

Howdy,
I will be running a tour based out of Montrsoe the week of June 13-18th. Unfortunately, it is a tour for pavement riders However, if you are in the area with some free time, it would be cool to meet you. We will be hitting all the great roads in corner of Colorado. We'll probably eat at the Rockslide Cafe while in town during one of the rides. Got any way I can contact you?Adios, |

There are many great roads/trails on grand mesa. Get a map (Gazateer and USFS is a good combo) and find the route towards Buzzard Pass, which drops onto McClure pass, then go hit Kebler (which goes to CB). Vague, sorry, but you'll find it. And after a beer at the Elko try some food at Lil's Land and Sea
