What route did you guys take? I'm trying to see if that's familiar..

We did the single track at the coral over to Belota Ranch Road to Castle Rock down the hill through the creek bed back out to Redington and in.

I thought that looked like the single track, but I've only done about half a mile of it, just to check it out. Looking forward to more of that!

I thought I had ridden all the rides within 100 miles of Tucson. But today I did a new one with my riding buddy. It off the Amado to Arivaca road heading north and circling the Cerro Colorado Mnts. It touches a tiny bit of the "death in the desert" run.

About 50 miles with some of the best desert scenery to be had - not too rough but with a few tight spots.

Weather could not have been better.

Track available to anyone who wants it.

PM inbound, I'm a slut for good tracks.

If any of you happen to be out or hankering, i await your tutoring.

Better hurry, the Jeeps are catching up..

Well I never made that ride due to my XR cutting out even before I got to Circle K. I made it home with no problems but the bike never fired again!
I went through all the diagnostics and found that my CDI box failed - just got the new one yesterday and the bike started right up! If I would of headed out to Chiva falls, I most likley would of been hiking out - I feel I got lucky on this one...
So, it's good to have the bike running again and I look forward to joining you on the next ride!
... sorry, some nice lady bought the Funduro!

Cheers everyone - hope to see ya on the trails soon. !

Whew. Hard to fix a CDI box with duct tape! Glad you got it all straightened out. I've got an xl250r from late 80s that I'm fixing up (stripped oil drain threads is the current hurdle). Love to see your XRL and my XLR beside each other and see how they play together!

Today a group of us rode Chiva Falls Loop backwards.

Mike from Texas KTM 450 XC-W
Scott from Yuma (now Tucson) KTM 500 XC-W
YZF Cathy KTM 200 EXC "Jack Piner"
Mike from Michigan (Scott's son) KTM 150 XC-W
Hoosiertrailmaster Yamaha WR 250F

I think it is possible we passed Don Benito as we were coming down Redington Road at the finish.

Yesterday Lamotovita and I explored Copper Creek.

Jeff wanted to try out the 400 (less filling, better taste).

The always elusive "Sibley Mansion". Getting harder and harder to get to it because the jeeps have just torn the hell out of the trail.

Almost doesn't seem real.

This guy is "old school" in all the best ways.

The only thing that stopped him was a 5' straight down drop.

Beautiful day and neat place to check out some history.

Yup, that was me. Just taking a quick ride up to the Bellota Ranch HQ road gate and back. Had about an hour to kill this afternoon so I thought I'd brush the cobwebs off my TW.

Nice pics HTM, looks like you guys had a much more adventurous ride than I did today.

That looks like a pretty cool route. I'm still learning the area and haven't got a clue how to get there. Where do you post tracks when you do? (I checked the gps threads.) I have a few days off and would like to get out.

Check out dualsportmaps.com and gpsies.com, both of those sites have tracks that you can download as .gpx files and upload to your GPS, I used basecamp on my computer to keep track of the tracks and upload them as needed to my GPS. I know Flashman used to upload a lot of tracks to DSM, (I used one of his tracks for Charouleau Gap) but the site has been essentially killed by google, you can't upload any more tracks. That having been said, there are still a LOT of good tracks on the site you can use.

I have that track - or close to it. Send me a PM with your email and I will send it to you.
