Free kid's helmet (girls)

Howdy Tucson ADV'ers:

My 12 year old daughter, going on 18, has grown a melon too large to sport her beautiful helmet of days past.

If any of you have a young one that can use this helmet, I'll gladly pass it along.

Details:

-Girl's Fox moto helm, approximately 3 years old.
-Black and pink.
-Size KL 52cm (Kid's Large, I think).
-No drops or damage, as she wore it while riding on the back of my XRR. :)

Shoot me a PM if interested.

I hope all of you Kool Kats are doing excellent. Time for a ride, for sure.

Dave

Dual sport rental or borrow?

I am going to be in the Tucson area during Thanksgiving week 2014. I am having trouble finding a dual sport to rent and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the subject.

I am coming from Raleigh, NC. I ride dirt every weekend on a KTM 200xcw, also do a lot of dual sport on DRZ400 and BMW F800GSA.

Would also love to have a guide to show me the trails if anyone has time.

Thanks for any help, Stuart

I would also consider buying a DRZ400 or similar dual sport and selling it again when I'm done with it, may not cost anymore than shipping mine out there.

So, I hear the desert has greened up. Some one please post up a few shots of the Sonoran in its green form for this desert rat that is stuck suffering this type of green.

I've noticed for lease signs in front of/on the building Performance Cycle center occupies. Anyone know if they are planning on moving or if this is for another section of that building?

Does anyone here have vstrom experence?

Hi All

I get this thread in my email every day. I noticed that most of your rides are dirt bikes so i have only posted a few times. I do read this thread often. makes me want to buy a more dirt/rock/sand worthy bike. I just cant have the vibrations associated with a single cylinder bike. I like the vstrom, good balanced bike, does a little everyting, and now I have it setup for me. so it will be hard to get me off it.

I live in tucson, i have a 2004 vstrom that I ride almost everyday. I have done some off pavement stuff (I have been riding 25+ years) some longer rides but mostly I commute because with work, school, kids, wife and so on its the only time I get to ride. I am not a bad mechanic, but have little experence wrenching on bikes. wtih the economy the way it is, I am keeping cars and bikes much longer than in the past and I am doing all the work on them and I have saved .. thousands over the last 2 years..

not being a good motorcycle mechanic (although I did just rebuild my forks for the first time rides so much better) , I decided to post here in hopes of finding some that have or have had a vstrom. I have the "headlight instrument cluster" going out issue. I have read up on it but was hoping to find someone local that has had the same issue?

Thanks guys.
Ron

San Manuel gas station - no gas

The salt and pepper place on the east side of San Manuel has no gas. I did a ride over Mount Lemmon this morning to Oracle, then Webb road to San Manuel. I knew I would be close on gas if I came over Reddington, and I was right. I hit reserve about 100 yards from the circle K. Would have been nice to get gas in San Manuel, then I could have had more fun on the Reddington side roads.

It's not as green as it was a few weeks ago.
