i'm a huge fan of the 'no destination' ride; just riding around checking stuff out and finding cool areas to go to later. i ride around in the santa ritas alot, but i'll be damned if i can retrace any of my rides. i should get a map so i can see where i've been so i can go where i haven't.

I've got "mom" duties Saturday, but will be riding Sunday, either with someone elses go, or in the Santa Ritas and/or further south.

I'm up for a ride - where do you want to go. I can trailer 3-4 bikes to Happy valley if you're up to it.

This is looking for unlocked gates?

I have no idea where Happy Valley is, but, I've been shut down too long.

Where to meet? How much gas will I need to carry/mileage between gas stops?

More info?

I did this ride last week - gate not locked - rate it a 3 in hard but can back track if you feel like it.

The loop is about 65 miles from Mescal - between Tucson and Bensen.

If you ride to Mescal instead of trailing you add another 30 to 40 miles one way - but there is gas at Mescal.

I think you're coming from Green Valley? - I could meet you at the gas station at Wilmont and I10.

Wow - another Husky - how about Jponder and you and me do Happy Valley - I can haul all three bikes to Mescal.
Happy valley is really nice right now - but there is a 8 mile freeway ride to close the loop.

Ride from Helvetia

Here is a long shot.... I live in Helvetia, ride a 1981 r80 g/s and I am not, I repeat not a "Ricky the Road Racer". I am going on one of my little loops tommorrow AM. I leave from my house(1/2 mile as a daring crow flys to the west of Gunsite pass) at about 8:30 and go down to helvetia road / Santa Rita road to the pasture roads that skirt the western slope to Whitehouse canyon Road. Turns into Box canyon road to Greaterville road. Take that to Highway 83 and go south to Parker Canyon lake. Grab a candy bar at the little store and head off to Lochiel and on up to Harshaw . From Harshaw I usually go to Patagonia and eat lunch/ breakfast. From there I go either over to I19 or back to Highway 83 .I am usually home by 1 or 2 PM. If anyone wants to come along or modify the route let me know. Phone untill 8:30 PM at 520 4197516. I was the guy on the red r80g/s at the desert daze gig. I just have to go slow (55-60) on the freeway with that CRF230L. I can ride or add the bike to the trailer. The main thing is I won't need to worry about gas.

What time do you want to meet at some nameless Wilmot/I-10 gas station?

I'd really like to watch it.
