It was a great day for Flora; coming back from Gardner Canyon I took FS4110 onto the bench (pediment) and these guys were in bloom. Anyone know what the plant is?

Hey jsonder,
That plant is Mimosa Dysocarpa (Velvet pod). Many years of guiding in the Sonoran, has the flora engrained in my mind.

Ask me what these flowers are at treeline in my summer region and I could not tell you. This shot is for the girls.






The first signs of fall are starting to show around here.





I rode twenty miles of this today with a chill in the air.


















On a side note, are there any Boatmen down there who might be interested in a 21 day trip on the Colorado river thru Grand Canyon in December?
We have room for one more boat and 4 people on the permit.

Rode into the clouds with CJM1219 today.




We did 70 miles.
3 passes (Hancock, Cumberland, and Tincup) that were over 12,000'. Then topped out above 13,100' on the Mt. Antero rd.

A little rain, a little snow, and a lot of fun!
