The title isn't the problem, it's the tax. If you can't prove that the initial sales tax was paid on the vehicle (i.e. a previous title), then you're responsible for it... based on the original MSRP.

My friend and I will be passing through the area at the end of October and we are planning to ride the backside road to the top of Mount Lemmon. We will be both on F800GSs but with Tourance tires. Based on what I read here and the pictures I saw, we should be able to do it without issues, right? We both have intermediate dirt riding experience. I did the Trans-Lab last year but on TKCs.

Difficulty is in the eye of the beholder...but ya, the backside of Mt. Lemmon is very easy. EDIT: It has been raining here A LOT...it actually could be a mess up there. However, you can always turn around if it gets to be too much.

I've done it on an 800GS with Tourances - not a big deal. Down low (before you start climbing the mountain) the roads are rougher & are more likely to have storm damage, & up towards the top corners get a lot tighter and much of the road is in the shade so it doesn't dry out as fast.

You think it's fun toward the top after a monsoon storm? Try it with a foot of snow on the ground!!

I have - in good weather - seen a ford Tarus drive up it - and a GS 1200 two-up make it with no problem.

Nope. I'm not a fan of either mud or snow - regardless of what I'm riding or driving.

It's a piece of cake 2-up on a KTM 990 or KLR, although I wouldn't like to do the dirt at the top when it's wet or raining.

Hoosertrailmaster onboard, so post up if you want a fun challanging ride this weekend.We will meet @ the last Circle K on Tanque Verde Rd east of Houghton Rd @ 8:30 and roll @ 9:00.
