The HP2 would be fine on the 'fun' route. The 'fun' route is actually a little on the easy side for the little bikes with lots of suspension.
Need to put some miles on the KTM anyway, see you at the Shell station. -RC

Is Gadsden any good? Or do you guys stop there due to a lack of options on Arivaca?

Their coffee is pretty good, their food is solid but not gourmet. Prices are decent (relative to other coffee shops), it's got a nice relaxed atmosphere, the owner is pretty cool, and there just isn't much else out there.

. . . and now you can add wind to the forecast.

Hell of a choice on weekends to go for a ride.

Out of curiosity, what's the route? From where to Arivaca? Is it drivable in a 4x4?

Yes - all of the roads out there are used by the ranchers, border patrol (although they don't feel a need to stay on the roads - they just blame the damage on OHV users like us), and probably a few smugglers too -- so they are all passable in a high clearance vehicle (4wd may or may not be needed, depending on the condition of the wash crossings).

The basic route starts at the end of Sierrita Mountain road (just east of 3-points), heads south on "C" road to Caballo Loco, west on Caballo Loco road, south on "A" road, east on Ryan Ranch Rd, then either:

A: "fun" route: generally south on a collection of unnamed ranch roads to Arivaca Rd about 5 miles east of Arivaca.

or

B: "easy" route: continue east on Ryan Ranch to San Juan Ranch Rd, then south to Arivaca Rd about 17 miles east of Arivaca.

Cool! That sounds like a fun route.

I'm not opposed to riding on Sunday instead of Saturday.

Of course, I'll be slow on either day . . .

What say you Allyn (and anyone else who wants to come along)?
