Well...my dirt bike career lasted all of 2 rides. I didn't get to ride on Saturday but I went out to the Pinal Air Park OHV area on Monday. All was going well and I was about to call it quits. I had been practicing lofting the front wheel. Went over a couple of small bumps and caught a rut. Got tossed off and landed in the bottom of a drop off that was 2 or 3 feet lower than where I went off. End result ... proximal humerus fracture. Pretty much shattered the ball of my right shoulder. So now it matches my left shoulder

Howdy folks. Just picked up a KLR and I'm looking for someone that might have some doohickey tools so I feel a bit better hitting the trails around here. The bike has 17k, and I'm not sure if it's done or not, but want to make sure.
I'm not new to riding, I've had bikes in the past, and quads, but I'm getting back in to riding on the street. I'm going to be using the KLR to commute to Sierra Vista a couple of times a week, and also to do some exploring as well. I used to do a lot of ghost towning and back road exploring with a 4x4 and want to do the same with the bike (courtland, pearson, etc. Not too much crazy stuff). I also like doing photography in old, run down areas. Any suggestions near the south part of the state? :) Here are a couple of pics from places I've been: Between SV and Tombstone (Hiway 82?) ![]() Bowie, AZ ![]() ![]() |

Eric,
DUQUESNE and HARSHAW ghost towns offer both the things you are looking for. Both are Southeast of Patagonia, AZ. The San Raphel Valley is also beautiful and close by.

Y'all have been having such bad luck that I'm not ashamed to announce that I didn't heal the broken clavicle completely, and after 6 months the doc figures that genetics and age are against me. So, in preparation for my 71st birthday, I'm cutting back to modest difficulty rides that don't run over about 4 hours.
Getting old is a bitch.
