It was my turn again, so I'm bequeathing the trophy to HTM, since I'm feeling like a pussy right now and sold my KTM.

Tucson or bust...

Hello everybody!

I've been following Tucson area fourms for a few months now - thanks for all the cool pics and posts...

I am relocating soon to sunny Tucson AZ to be closer to my wife's family. I will be in town at the end of the month to start my job search. I have been a motorcycle mechanic for the past 18 years (Harley-Davidson with a bit of Polaris), and will of course hopefully find work in the industry.

I am excited to meet and ride with many of you! I have a 2009 XR650L and enjoy exploring off road.

Just posting 'cause I'm excited about the move... Any local advice or input?

Thanks - see ya soon!

HTM, sorry you are the next recipient of the Trophy. I will have to come up with something special to top Big E's addition for me. Get better quickly!

Ps, Bob don't think I forgot about your addition to the trophy.

Aww gee thanks fella's. Just what I want, something to remind me of how much I will miss riding.

Not at all Terry, just thought I'd save a handoff.

So what's the next ride brewing? Anyone able to comment about the difficulty level of chiva falls? Should be fine on my kl600s, right?

What is a KL600s? It's all about skill level. Chiva is rocky and has some technical parts. You should be a pretty decent rider to take any 600 cc bike back there, but I have seen HP2's make it.

It is doable but HTM is right, it is a technical ride. Here are two KLRs.

Predecessors to your beautiful KLR 650. 84-86 saw the KL600.. Then Kawasaki stepped up their game to the KLR650. I have two of them, thus my 'KL600s''. I'm told that they're lighter and better offroad than the 650s. Both of mine are kickstart only, so there are pros and cons. Most of the design is the same. Some of the parts are from the klr250 such as the swingarm, some the same as the 650 such as the general engine and frame layout.

Here's my 86:

I plan on riding that and some of the other routes in that area this week ( I prefer to ride week days ).
One would think that the falls should be flowing this week with the warm temps melting the snow up high.

Rode the Coke Ovens Loop and back up to Klondike from Monmouth this past week.

I'm trying to ride as many of the tracks on DualSportMaps site as I can before heading back to Idaho in May.

Twist it, Max
