Had a ball on the back side of Mt. Lemmon today. Managed to spill twice in sandy corners blasting up on the R100GS. Love the power delivery but I think the forks might be a little soft. Passed a two-up on the way back up on some kind of Kawi. Good way to end the day.

The guy who put that event together is a Raytheon guy who was/is active in the Raytheon dirt bike club. The ride was free to members of Raytheon club.

Did anyone do the Big Bike rides? Where did the Sunday ride go?

Russ
We did the A loop, Looks like the Sunday C route took Reddington to Casabel rd then S to Benson and then I10 to Old Spanish Trail and in to Tucson.

Are you standing by the door with petroleum jelly?

Thanks Strappyman, I've done the ride on Cascabel Rd and it's a decent ride but at least I didn't miss anything I haven't ridden before.

Anybody going riding this weekend?

I was thinking about maybe doing Ruby Road, from the Arivaca side.

I've never done it before, but it's been highly recommended to me.

I was thinking of a loop like this:

PM if you're interested.

Does anyone know the Death in the Desert route? I always wanted to try that route, just because Becky's tales of it were so epic. If anyone knows / remembers that route I'd love to get together and try it some Saturday.

The west side of this. Down through Diamondbell, Black Hills and Las Guijas.

It was her beginner's perpective. With her experience now it might take on a new name.

PS: The route Emerson posted has some additional tracks to it than the original "Death in the Desert". If you follow his tracks there is a section South West of the Casino del Sol that you ride down about 4 miles of a small wash. That can give some fits because it is deep loose sand. One time we rode it, it had just rained and it was AWESOME. Also, beware on the track that you might come around a corner to find a shot-out big screen TV in the middle of the trail. Seems one of the favorite things to hunt in them there parts is big screens and old refrigerators.

Do you need a permit to hunt big screens and refrigerators? I'd love to bag a big screen. Oh, if I could come across a 60" I'd love to hang that on my wall.

If you, or anyone for that matter, is interested in riding DID I'm still curious to give it a go. I'm pretty much looking for guides to take me fun places to ride because I have no idea where I'm going and don't feel real comfortable taking off into the desert on my own. I'd also like to get out into the gunsite pass area. Really I'm pretty much down for anything that doesn't require Herculean riding skills. (Anything tougher than Chiva falls is probably above my general ability at this point)

D.I.D. could be the Bonsai Becky commemorative ride.

Gunsite would be a good run for you you Mike. At first I was thinking you meant Charouleau Gap...that is pretty tough and even worse now since the monsoons. The whole Santa Rita range is super nice to ride and not brutally tough.
