Don,

We don't usually do it until the new year but a couple of us are talking about doing it the first weekend in November.

Sent you a link to a job position available at my work.

Just bought a vintage Schwinn Stingray on ebay!

I put the camera down and snapped my first selfie - sorry about the CamelToe.

Anybody here?

http://tucson.craigslist.org/mcy/4127180688.html

If not, anybody looking? That is one amazing looking bike. I'd love to buy it but somehow I don't think they'd be interested in a trade for a DRZ.

2009 Beta 525 RR Factory Edition Enduro/Dual Sport (street legal)
1920 miles, 82 hours run time.
Title is clean and clear.
Bike was only used for trail riding and riding on the street, no racing.
Oil changed every 10 hours, oil filters every 20.
Valves adjusted every 20 hours.

- Uses 510cc 4 stroke KTM RFS motor (very reliable and powerful with readily available parts).
- Factory Carbon/Kevlar Skid Plate
- Factory Full Leo Vince Titanium exhaust
- Rekluse Z-Start Pro Clutch
- Rekluse Left Hand Rear Brake
- IMS 3.2 gallon fuel tank (factory is 2.2)
- Enduro Engineering Hand Guards with LED turn signals
- LED rear tail light and LED turn signals
- Turn-Tech lithium battery
- Tubliss system front and rear (no pinched tubes or flats!)
- Practically new Pirelli MT-43 rear trials tire mounted
- New front and rear brake pads
- All brake/clutch fluid recently replaced
- Carburetor vacuum line filter system
- Battery Tender hook up for easy charging

You will get a bunch of stock parts with the purchase including a rear knobby tire that has plenty of life left.

Listed price is extremely firm, do not low ball me as I will not respond.

This bike is very powerful, lightweight, and possesses an awesome suspension that soaks up the bumps. This thing is a blast on any trail you can throw at it. It runs like a champ, never gave me a single issue!

What does the big lever do?

Wait I see the gears now... Is that how you shift?

Tucson needs a lot more coastline.

Yep, that's the shifter.
Decades ago when I was substantially smaller I could do wheelies on my original stingray.
Now when I do that, I occasionally fall flat on my back.
I just let my fluffy crop of back hair break my fall.

That bike was sold about a year ago to I am guessing this guy. I almost bought it for $3800. It had the same miles and hours then as he is advertising so I wonder WTF? I had the 2005 flavor...they are basically the same...KTM engine on a Beta chassis. Problem is parts...hard to find and not cheap...great bike though. Oh, they have Marchozzi shiver forks. Same as the BMW X series.

PS: $4000 is still a real reasonable price.

PPS: plan to buy it to ride till it drops...resale is real tough unless you find someone who knows what it is...the name Beta has no recognition.

Hey Messy - I can't help ya with the job situation, but I wish you the best of luck!

As far as meeting people, my wife and I are newer here also... If were not riding, we are out on day hikes exploring this beautiful desert we now live in! If your'e interested, join us on a local hike. You met my wife already as she did her rider course @ ride now. Were into hikes, museums, backyard BBQ's and exploring local attractions/events.

Cheers!

I rode Chiva today on my DRZ, (last minute ride). I just got it back from ZR1. Interestingly enough I did chiva last week too, so it was a really good comparison of the difference ZR1's work did. It felt like a whole new bike. Really awesome. Worth every penny.

However. I was thinking of that Beta the entire ride. Less weight, better suspension, a lot more power, a rekluse, left hand brake. It would be like cheating. I kept wondering what I could get for my DRZ right now. I'd get that bike and ride it til the wheels fell off. Then buy new wheels.

Hello!

My search for local Tucson routes/roads led me here. I've got some family riding out on their GS's from the midwest in a month or so and they plan on doing some rides while they are here. Besides the Mt. Lemmon/Backside of Mt. Lemmon, what are some easily accessible area rides?

Any links to maps?

Thank you!

Thanks everyone for your input on job possibilities. I am digging in to a few. As for Ride Now, the scheduling got to me. The wife and I see each other between 7:30 and 10pm each night and that's it. Not working for us. I am looking forward to my temporary retirement!

It's a little ways out of Tucson, but I really enjoy Arivaca road and Ruby Rd as a nice DS/Big bike route. Take 19 to KP48, Amado exit, take Arivaca Rd to Arivaca, then turn south and take the left split and stay on the main road til you hit Pena Blanca lake. I always turn around and double back, but from there you can hop on 19 and slab it back to Tucson.

Here's a basic map for a sonoita ride, sonoita has some great scenery and if you stay out of the mountains big bike friendly.

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=A...p=3&sz=17&z=13

At the end point you can either go left or right, both will eventually lead to fish canyon road onto gardner canyon and back to highway 83. Stop in the town of sonoita for a break and then slab back. There's some good riding further south too but might be a bit much for one day.

There's a cold beer at RG for the one with correct answer.
How many F-words in this video? I counted 900, but I can't count.
