I ride this area quite a bite, solo lately. I've seen a few other tracks, anybody on this forum? Heading out now in fact, cheers.

Sort of, ish. It's sitting in the garage now. Dropped a shift drum bolt which broke off oil pump gear teeth which starved top end. I replaced the gears, lock tited loose bolts etc, then I managed to pick up a new/used motor with a good top end. No idea about the condition of the bottom end, though. Original motor has a jb welded crack from someone not using the decomp. Lever.

So my debate is to put the new top end on the old motor, button it up and live with a slight oil leak from said jb weld crack, and know my dragon, or go through the new engine altogether and find out afterwards if it was worth it.

Said bike is a '90 kick start dirt model..

Then once I get all that squared away, was thinking of swapping up to a newer 96+ model with E-start, then install the kickstart from donor engine.

Then I'll have a the agility of a 350, versatility of a 6 speed, simplicity of an airhead, convenience of the button and reliability of the kick :P
