Sorry to interrupt your fascinating conversation there guys. :)

I was actually thinking of asking the guys who did my suspension during my roadracing days, ESP. I know they are pretty busy though. But it seems to me that if you're not changing anything, a rebuild is a rebuild no matter what it is... I suppose I need heavier springs though.

I know they semi-recently did two fork conversions for and Xchallenge and an Xcountry though as you know, they generally do primarily sportbike stuff. Guess it would depend on how busy they are etc... Those guys really need to move into a better location.

Let me know if you get it back together
there is only one road to explore back here
The Martin Ranch, a lot of sand wash route,
the rest all go to private property.

Old seal out via ~60psi(dust cover is pretty torn too), cleaned out well, new seal in (hard to get it to seat all the way down, using old seal as driver)
Went to change left seal while I was at it. Looks like she took a rock nap which scraped off any useful shape of the oil drain screw. Hacksaw time = flathead is the new Phillips. Hopefully tomorrow that'll be all buttoned back up.
Oh yeah, right fork doesn't seem to be bent, but the lower clamp bolts are.
I've heard of KLR days. I really just want something that's light, works reasonably well and gets me back home. Hopefully this works out to be it.

No go for today. I might get her running around the block, but life and work are catching up.

Fwiw, i like sand.

No problem went out for an hour or so,
small fuel leak, gasket, should of took a small screw driver, air bleed is a little rich.
Next week I'll fix fuel leak and get plates so I can cross 83 and see how it does on 83.

I need to be updated on terms, does Fwiw= Fine women in Wyoming?

I need to buy some material to recover the seat on my Xchallenge after doing some reshaping. Does any have any suggestions for a local place I can get some material and what type of material I should get?
Thanks

I see we're coming up on our 15,000th post soon. I went back to post #1 and was floored that we've been at it for 5 years We really do talk about riding more than we ride...and I admit to being the biggest offender.

So close to 1000 pages too, any post could push it over.

Anybody could push it over now, hope it's not some noob with a crappy starter bike.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but if anybody wants to go riding around Baghdad this weekend, aztom is missing. There's a search in progress, and they are asking for help. There's a thread in the west forum titled help aztom missing. He is a 72 year old adv'er and should have been home last night by 5:00. Thanks
Don

*edit: call off the search. He walked out!
