Now they dont even return emails to me. Guess they got my money so they figure why bother lying to me anymore about where my parts are or why I dont have them. Sad part, its the kicker and my bike likes to blow starter fuses, cant push start with the Rekluse , So the bike has been sitting for over a month now. Even if I didnt have fuse issues with the E-start I still want a back up option if I am going far off the beaten path. Really disappointed, with a forcast of possible snow over 10,000' the other day I know summer is going to be over soon and I will have missed out on the last days of fun. Good thing I have the 990 for other other fun

I know it sounds weird but if your blowing fuses, check that your horn wiring isn't pinched against the frame and radiators. Sorry about the bad luck. I use ktmworld and munn and have had terrific service with both.

My thumper 540 exc had the same fuse issue and it is the horn or fan popping it just make sure all connections are clean and not pinched or crossed I put a ballistic battery and the flebay starter wire kit on and she starts first button tap or kick every time proper valve adjustment and jetting will keep it starting easy too!
P.s. two Fridays ago I had a head on collision around a blind single lane curve on my 540 around 20 mph and stopping as fast as possible munched the mini van went over the bars me and the bike are fine luckily! I can't really believe how fine though most bullet proof bike ever didn't even bend tweak my rim warp 9 btw! Just thought I'd share I'll post before and after shots of the bike if wanted :) but be safe out their guys!!!

With the stable mate

I have installed a Baja Designs DS kit and put the dirt tires on. The 50/50 tires were fine on dirt roads, but left much to be desired when venturing on trails.
How well does the BJ Designs light work? I have a stock light on my XC 525 and it cannot be adjusted to light the road, I have a halogen bulb in it also. I wnt to replace with the BJ Designs or a X2 .

I'm in the market for a 2004 or 2007 California plated KTM 450 or 525 EXC. Anyone local have one they're looking to sell or seen one offered at a fair price? Already browsed the Craigslist ads and have a 2007 450 on my short list. Price is ok, but debating if I should hold out for a 525.

Orange Fever

Well... After deciding to sell the F650GSPD and pick up a 990 this spring, orange fever has struck. I needed something smaller to play hard on... something still street legal though, :) 08 450 EXC! 117 hours on it, a bit rough, but in excellent mechanical shape.

Just gonna put a 13L Acerbis on it, gear it to 14/50 and ride it like I stole it. (Plus a brake light, 606's or 908's and some rear signals to keep it legal, lol!) The 2008's are rare up here as it was the last year we could take a dirt bike and register it as a street legal bike once the lights and stuff were on. I hate packing a bike around and prefer to ride it to the good stuff!

Joe

Nice bike, the e-start is the biggest issue. I have an 08 as well and I am kicking it most of the time. I love it otherwise.

I tightened the torque limiter and tried new batteries but I think its a decompression issue. Not sure at this point.

Good luck with it. Mine is over 250 hours and still rips.

The 450/525 EXC's came street legal from the factory starting in 2007, which was the last year of the RFS engine. Your 2008 came with all the legal stuff right out of the box.
