Ya - doesnt look like it. You need the SXS clamps for the PHDS. Theyre meant to be really good though...

I've been looking at the threads in the thumper section and there seems to be a lot of questions about the KTM exc line! I think the exc's shot to the "most wanted" list so more people are trying to turn KTM. I researched alot of different aspects before I bought mine. Living in CA makes the "plated" a no brainer and the quality of KTM does the rest! I like my exc so much I think I'll post another pic!

rode with a guy on a 530 exc-r today... it's a beast. we'd round a 120 degree bend and i'd see cubic yard of dirt roosting across the trail.... he's a *big* guy and that thing hauled him around like it wasn't breaking a sweat.

Here is my new-to-me 2002 KTM 250 Exc Racing:

Need to finish getting it ready to be plated in CT and then redo for a TAT trip in late August - early September.

August, look into the HT racing 350 kit. You'll be impressed with the power gains.

Been looking at it for the last couple of months and finally sent them a too long email on Saturday with a bunch of questions about the conversion. Mainly about how difficult and level of mechanical skill required.

I also bought an 03 head on ebay which I think will give me a few more revs (single progressive valve springs instead of the doubles).

It really is a nice motorcycle: simple, light, well made and started on the second kick after I reassembled the carb.

How many hrs are on the bike? If you're uncomfortable doing the install, I'd be tempted to sent them the motor for installation and a check over. That way you're sure there's no issues on the TAT.

Drain it, pull the carb and kickstarter, and pack it in an ice chest for shipping.

Here is mine in local messing around form.

In Copper Canyon

I have a bunch of different tanks, seats, wheels & brake setups, headlights & racks for it. I just bolt on what ever goodies I need for the particular trip. It's probably the most versatile bike I have in my garage. It does seem to spend most of it's time with the 13L KTM tank
