I've resolved to scooter to all of my classes this spring. It's a six mile ride mostly through town. Today I was pleasantly rewarded for my tire studding efforts with a solid snow storm.
The fresh snow of the parking lot was light and fluffy and traction was great. Kate insisted on taking a picture.

The roads were not so great. The small tires on the scooter hunted in the parallel tire tracks in the loose snow and I had to outrigger most of the way. After passing a few stuck cars on the main drag, I stopped to take a picture of the conditions. The scooter really doesn't like tracked crud.

About 30 minutes after takeoff I got to school. I was late, so I could only grab a shot while walking in.

Luckily the motorcycle parking wasn't all taken up with cars and the small plow had taken a swipe that the scooter fit into perfectly.
Here's my spot after Microbiology let out at 9ish. ![]() It took about 3 minutes to get the engine to catch. I figure it was about 10F. |

On the way home the roads were great! Compact snow and ice with only a few bumpy and loose parts. I averaged 25MPH. Some Golden cops pulled up next to me on the way home in their big SUV and we chatted before I took them off the line.
It's good to be back in the saddle but I think a larger front wheel is in order... |

Strangely enough, I got a great deal on a local stock muffler. Then I safety-wired the bolts. |
