This would be funnier if it wasn't the truth!

Sorry for the delay....

We didn't camp or ride too much dirt on the way down, just a 90 mile semi- rough stretch with Gonzaga Bay right in the middle. It did break one of Kevin's jesse bags off, and after moving some stuff around and strapping his bag on the tail we continued on... then his mud guard broke off, then he crashed in some deep sand breaking his windshield and knocking the wind out of himself. That was kind of a scary moment since I was ahead of him and saw he went down and he wasn't getting up as I raced back - we were a long ways from anything. Thankfully he was fine, just a little shaken...
We stopped at Coco's Corner for a few and visited with him - what a cool place and an interesting guy... I will get into that later.
We stayed at Rice and Beans in San Agnosio ( spelling?), and pushed on the next day, riding down Mexico 1 to La Paz.

I've donated a few ADV decals along the way

We went through many of these militar checkpoints, once they saw the ADV decals they just waived us bye...

The end of the pavement

stopping along the way south

I keep adding pieces of the 12GS...

Gonzaga Bay

Kevin's near mortal wound

Off the boat, cooked and into my stomach.... mmm fresh seafood.

Pimp beds...

sunrise at Ganzaga Bay

Coco's Corner

Hi WoodsChick! nice to meet you!

To boldly go where no RV has gone before...

A common site on this trip....

La Paz

3,800 miles on the Anakee's - glad to change out the squared off tire...

This is where things really became interesting. Without getting into Kevin's business too much, I found myself at lunch with a ex-NFL playing listening to conversations/negotiations about mega- million dollar developments....
After luch we drove a short while then passed through these huge gates with armed guards, we stopped for a cocktail at this 40,000 square foot compound with servants everywhere... what a weird place to find myself on the adventure.... really.

A chef - in case we were hungry...

Back to reality.

My last few nights in La Paz have ended up looking something like this...

Late night bacon wrapped dogs... mmmmm

Another crazy turn of events...

Right now I'm in Cabos... I friend of a friend in LA said she had a place down here I should come stay at.... I kind of brushed it off at the time...
Turns out her "place" is a swanky multi-million dollar house ON THE beach in the center of town, with classic art everywhere. I've been sitting on one of the terraces watching whales, chilling in the warm sun, drinkning tequila, and eating well.
What a trip!

I have met so many kind people on this journey, there is so much of a story behind most of the photo's, and am being very lame not writing about all of my experiences, for that I am sorry... especially to those who I've met that might read this.
Right now I'm in the lap of luxury, in paradise with nothing more than the 2 t-shirts and 1 camping pants I brought. not too pimp, but the tourists and rich folk didn't ride a bike they've been living off of for 2 months either so fuck em'

I haven't written because I am having a great time with Kevin, but my mind is also distracted... my budget is way blown with my bank account dangerously low - if I have any major issues I'm fucked, I should have been home looking for work weeks ago, but can't stop going down the path that life is taking me... and what I crazy path it's been - I have no regrets.
I'm about 3500 miles from home with lots of talk on the news of a crumbling Mexican government and possible civil war ( probably FOX News BS, the people here laugh at that talk ) .....
Kevin and I are splitting up after the weekend ( it's Carnival' in La Paz )
I changed my tire, and will do an oil change before I go so the bike is good to go for the trek back to frozen Chicago.
I will be riding solo from La Paz back home, planning to take my time working my way up Baja.... fuck it, I'm here, we blasted down here past so much so fast , I want to ride more dirt, visit with Coco, and camp ( cheap, or free) the whole time - no money for a hotel and honestly that's just fine with me.
This trip has been so powerful, and has changed my life's path forever... so many kind people who have helped me along and taken me into there's lives for a minute.
I'm trying to focus on the present, but it's hard knowing what's ahead...
I don't have my card reader with me so no current photo's, I will do an update before I set out to ride baja solo, and more than likely will be off the grid for some time once I'm out there in the beautiful desert.
Let the next chapter begin - once I survive Canival'....!

Yellow Camera Top Box

Can you guy tell me where the yellow top box came from? It looks like it can fit one helmet. I cannot find a small Pelican type box that can fit one helmet.

It's a pelican 1300, I bought it at REI, though you can get them online cheaper at B+H photo... it's not even close to being large enough for a helmet....

Cabo BMW

You probably know of the BMW dealer in Cabo, that might have something you need. If not, they are located on the road leaving Cabo going toTodos Santos on the left side. New store last year about this time when I was down there. No doubt there will be talk at Motoworks tomorrow during the tech session, about your adventure and you will be required to do a presentation at a Chicago region meeting whenever you return. Expecting 5-8 inches of snow tonight in Chicago. See what you are missing. Thanks for the great story and pictures.
