Hi ChiTown!
Don't let them guys over in GSpot find out about this! As a new owner of a used GS, I can assure you, some of them get highly upset if you point out problems with their bike of choice. Did you ever hear the joke about the Fruit Cake! the punch line is that there has only been one fruit cake baked since the beginning of time, it is passed around and around the world because no one likes fruit cake. They see GS problems the same way, there has never been but one or two problems, but the same stories are repeated over and over. Their Koolaid is very strong! I am glad that you see your bike as a "tool", just as I do and when that tool does not perform its intended function, it don't make any difference what is wrote on the side of the gas tank! Ride On!!! Donnie

The fuel sensor is a repeat offender. But it probably would be considered "non-essential" for the effect of what is a repeat problem for item "A" of the law. The valve cover was not actually fixed, since a change of gasket is not the fix for a warped cover. That remains as an open source for the 30 days (the dealer did not change because they did not have the part in stock). Lion |

Ok. Point taken. That all said, with the problems this bike has had. The lawyer in me might suggest that you get past the dealer and contact a BMW rep for the shop where you bought the bike. I would be surprised with the number of problems this bike has had if they won't take it back and offer up a replacement. Even the best manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, etc.) have a bad one once and again... Just a thought... or phone call and letter, etc. |

Wow! Hang in there Chi. That's a doozy of an iron horse you have there buddy.
I agree with Gangplank. Call A&S to see if there is anything they can do for you. Definitely a different new bike would be good. BMW should take your GottaSuck back and analyze it to see why everything is going so wrong for you. Cheers and good luck!

I can't blame you. I love my F8, but if it ever leaves me stranded-just once-It's gone. Too many bikes in the world to worry about one. I believe I'd document all the troubles you've had and try to contact a regional BMW rep. failing that, a consumer advocate group.

Sorry to hear about the GS.
I'm glad my DL1000 doesn't speak Engrish. So far the honeymoon is still ON! I bought her a new seat and windshield last week, as well as a cute little tank bag. But that's easy to do when your payments are less than half of $350 a month. Sorry. I had a BMW. I'm over it too. When I got it I was really pleased with the reaction that blue and white roundel got from people who don't know... "You have a BMW? Cool!" Now I could not care less. "You traded a BMW for a Suzuki? Are you crazy? Man if I had a BMW I would never get rid of it!" Yeah, OK. Whatever. Good luck off loading the GS. Don't hurt your credit just to make a point.
