Shortest Comeback in History!

Hey: I spoke to Ron, although he's a bit fuzzy, he'll be OK. Ron's one of the orginal PB500 crew, and quite a character. Here he is with
Scott (Grasshopper then / now Kane, and myself, looking pregnant) at the 2006 PB300. That year we did two events, a PB300 in April and the first
PB500 in Oct.

The thing that got me, is that Ron's post saying he's back, after an unexplained absence, was posted at 3:35 PM on June 11, the post about the
crash was posted June 12 around 8 am. The shortest comeback I know of.

Ron, glad your OK and hope to see you in the woods real soon.
Regards

Jack

2009 PB300 Update 06/30

Hey: We've been out quite a bit lately, laying out and preriding this years routes. The 2009 version of the PB300 has been designed for Big Bikes, and we cut out most of the deep sand roads that made some of the sections tough on the larger machines. I'm not saying, there's no deep sand, just a lot less.

We cut out most of this stuff.

This year, both days routes should be doable on GS's, Tigers and 950/990's, with an experienced rider of course. This is not a good event for riders wondering what it's like to ride in the dirt.

The Event is for Machines over 500 CC's, there are exceptions for women and riders over 60.

The routes are being finalized now and it looks like the format will be something like this:

Day One Sat 10/10 will be appx 175 miles
Day Two Sun 10/11 will be appx 125 miles
Dinner Sat Night with a great Program

Pine Barrens Riding School on Fri 10/09: The school will focus on riding technique's specifically needed in the Pine Barrens. More info will be avail soon, there will be a charge for this, not sure how much or how many riders we'll be able to take.

More info soon.

Jack

Eh?

So a just barely legal, full fledged Husky TE510 almost motocrosser, can ride the event, but my underpowered porker of a DRZ can't?

Im not quite seeing the logic.....

Hey: I may be able to make an exception for RallyMoto Volunteers. Black River Stages Rally is up that way and can use help with scoring etc.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=476108

Some of the PB300 Sweep and Support crew will be on smaller machines, they Volunteer to help out too!

Any more questions on the CC Limit, please see last years thread, this issue has been played out before.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...8+pine+barrens

The max distance to gas is appx 80 miles, I'm still working out the routes but the machines should be able to go at least 80 miles on a tank.

BTW: Dual Sport Armory will be providing support for all machines this year.

http://www.dualsportarmory.com/

The entry form will go up between mid Aug and Sept 1, I want to get the permits etc before we start taking any $$$.

Jack: Actually can't wait for stages this year as I could not run the event last year. I am also extending discounts for all riders for the event this year thru my store. Mind you Black river stages is about the best thing in these neck of the woods. hehe. Are you going this year?

My first child is due to be born just a little before the PB500... it may affect my attendance. Got the ok from Amy... but not if our daughter isn't here yet!

Talking Rocky's Bike Bike Enduro Route

Hey: We finished the routes for this year last week. I must have rode almost 2000 miles laying it out.
Sometimes we spent hours trying to improve a mile or two. This will be the best PB event ever. Really.
We added a great new section.

"Rocky's Bike Bike Enduro Route"

Rocky Spano, President of the "Ocean County Competition Riders" and the man behind the Scrub Pine Enduro,
which has won the "East Coast Enduro of the Year" award seven times, showed me some great trails and
firecuts which we added to this years event. The appx eight mile long section will take most Big Bikes almost
an hour to complete, but will be well worth it. It's a fun section. A go around is also available.

The section is rideable by big bikes, but hand guards, bash plates and for the GS 1200's, cylinder guards are
recommended. It gets a little tight, now and then. , but most of it is wide firecuts thru tall pines.
I'll post a few pic's soon.

Also, I'm trying to make an arrangement with Tourtech for a deal on parts for this event, stay tuned.

Knobby tires are required for the event also.

Regards
Jack

PS: Anders and Amy, congrats. Best Wishes.
