Found it on e-Bay - http://tinyurl.com/Rotopax-Milled-Aluminum-Mount

It says in the description that it's only for the 2 gallon containers but I think that's just a slip/typo because the 1 gallons are just coming out - cant see how it wouldn't work as all their different containers seem to be interchangeable.

Right, Jason?

Hi, it's Jason from RotopaX. You are right! In the middle of this year all the C.A.R.B. regulations take effect on ALL portable fuel containers so buy em now as a good thing is coming to an end.

UPDATE: New 1 Gallon Container and New Aluminum Mounts!

I've added this information to the first post as well...

Jason has now released the 1 gallon fuel container, as well as a new aluminum mount for the Rotopax 1 and 2 gallon containers. He asked me to post up some pictures here as the pic's are not on the website. The new mount looks great!

Single container mount...

Mount with extension, holds two containers...

One container mounted, double mount extension ready for another...

Again, you can mount a single container on these or use the extension and convert it to a double mount...

Back of mount bracket...

These look great!

The new mounts look nice. Any idea when the following will be available?

* One gallon water jugs
* Locking mounts

I took some measurements and two of the one gallon jugs would fit nicely on my DR650's "BBQ" rack...

Thanks,
- Chris

pfb, I know it's not your job () but any chance you could add the 1gal and 2 gal dimensions to your first post?

I'm confused on how the bracket plate above is designed to be mounted - what is the curved lip for? Is there another bracket plate for say mounting your fuel pack to a flat surface such as an aluminum tail rack or is it just a matter of mounting the X hold-down assembly itself directly to the tail rack?

I'm guessing that the flat metal piece is actually a separate part. A "Polaris RZR Mounting Plate" is also shown on the web site, presumably designed specifically for the Polaris.

I think the mount itself has no backing plate, but is designed to mount just with the two bolts that are shown to whatever surface you want. The pictures show the mounting bracket bolted to the Polaris mounting plate...

As for dimensions, I don't have 'em!

Those do look great! Nicely done. I could see how, with a little fiddling, that bracket could drape over a rear rack rail. Maybe add a little polymer padding underneath to protect the rail (like on the Metal Mule panniers). Another strip of padding at the bottom rail, provided loose to account for different rack dimensions. If there were then two slots (rather than one) both top and bottom that would allow pipe clamps or heavy duty zip ties to slip through, you'd have a readily adaptable/removable mount for under Dirt Bagz, Ortlieb panniers and other soft luggage.
