Sat. 2/21/09 Spokane Motorcycle Show Meet and Eat

If there is an interest in a meet and eat I'll set it up. Last year we went to the Onion Bar and Grill for lunch and had a good time. This year I would like to do a dinner meet and eat maybe at 6:00 PM? We can go to the Onion it's within walking distance and I'll see about getting the side room for us again. Other than driving to and from work I don't go downtown much so I'm not familiar with what else might be near the convention center that would be good for a meet and eat. Other suggestions are welcome if the Onion doesn't trip your trigger.

Here's a little about the show:

Inland Northwest Motorcycle show
Feb. 20-22, 2009
Spokane Convention Center
http://www.spokanemotorcycleshow.com/ <<<<<---Website

With vendor and manufacture participation at the Seattle show down this year I was afraid the show in Spokane would be down as well. Looking at the website it doesn't appear to be down, in fact they seem to be offering more than last year.

Check their website to see if there is something that catches your attention - - - - just the word motorcycle catches my attention but some people it takes a little more.

The majority of what they are offering interest me but some highlights are:
Beaudry Motorsports will be there with BMWs and since BMWs were missing at the show in Seattle this gives us something Seattle didn't have. I just hope they don't have that new F650GS Twin there, I can't afford another bike. I'm sure since Beaudry's carries KTM they will have plenty of orange at the show too.

I know Westside Motorsport has been busy assembling bikes for the last few weeks getting prepared for the show, they carry Honda, Kawasaki, Moto Guzzi, and Yamaha and my guess they will have a good showing of bikes.
  • The other local dealers and accessory shops will be there too but Beaudry's and Westside were the ones that interested me since I'm a fan of BMWs, Suzukis, and Hondas ~ ~ ~ I need more money and a bigger garage to fill all my desires. I have heard rumor that there are a few people at Westside who have recently gotten into dual sport and/or adventure riding so that might be a plus for us.
  • Saturday I talked to Rich at Rich's custom seats in Seattle and he will be there again. That's one of my personal favorites since I'm a huge fan of Rich's seats, he's made it possible for me to be comfortable on bikes I'd otherwise not feel comfortable riding (have I mentioned I HATE being short?). I must like his seats, I have three of them.
  • This year seminars are being offered by David L. Hough and this too got my attention. Here's the schedule for Saturday:
  • 11 am - Packing Light/ Packing Right
  • 1 pm - Bossing Your Bike
  • 2:30 pm - Motorcycling in the Columbia River Gorge
  • 4 pm - Cornering Tactics
  • 6 pm - Packing Light/ Packing Right
That packing light thing might be a good for me to check out and learning how to boss my bike would be a plus, my bikes seems to boss me and it would be something new and different if I could boss something.

On the website there's descriptions of the seminars and a full schedule, there are Fri. and Sun. times too but I didn't want to post the entire schedule.

Who's IN for a meet and greet Saturday evening?

I'll be waiting for you near the Indians, maybe Robin can show you where that is if things don't go well and you're not in Tacoma.

I hope Cody does well and you do go to Tacoma but I'll miss you at the show and the meet and eat.

I guess Dillon and Rainier Rider will have to take up the slack, that is if we can get Rainier rider away from the Harleys.

If a KLR falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does anyone really care if it makes a sound?

You'd just put knobbies on it, get it dirty, scratched up and think it was an Adventure bike.

Something like this

They must be beginners due to the lacking of assless leather pants.

If we have enough interest it will be 6:00 PM at the Onion Bar and Grill on Sat. 2-21-09. So far there are only a few of us but hopefully there will be more people who want to get together. I think cabin fever is setting in around here and people are snuggling in front of the fireplace rather than going out.

OK everyone get out from in front of the fireplace and lets get together.

The onion is located:
302 W. Riverside
Spokane, WA

Here's a little about the onion if you've never been there:

More info on the show is here: http://www.spokanemotorcycleshow.com/

Thanks for the info.
I plan to be there with a couple of friends on Sat (current plans), they could change by then??
Last year we had lunch at the Onion - no complaints - really liked it.
I am trying to get a couple more riding buddies and work colleagues to go - we'll see.
