2001 model, last before the v-tec.
Best bike I ever owned in 30-something years of biking - along with my Harley Ironhead.
Love it.

Loved my '98

This was one of my favorite bikes ever. Full sport-touring goodies. Givi shield, Givi hard bags, and Gen-Mar bar risers. I got hit by a guy and his wife outside Knoxville on a BMW K1200LT going about 15-20 mph and my bike was totaled by the insurance company! (no one was hurt)

It amazes me how many different looks a VFR can have! And none of them looking bad either

Kerry, I am from Nashville too. Would love to check out your bike some time. Love those ohlins components.

I'm not a huge fan of the looks/VTEC 6th gen vs. the 5th and that sweet gear-drive music, but I believe they're both definitely one of the best street bikes of all time.

Nice. Got any top view pics of the GenMar bar riser? they sound like a good idea for long trips. My back aint getting any younger.
Do the bars clear the stock fairing ok with them on??

Rumor is it will be a 1200 cc with shaft drive. Honda hasn't made an official announcment on what teh new bike is, or how it will be marketed. Honda does have a 800 v twin out though for 2010.

You are a bit behind on the news. It's more than just a rumor.

these were http://www.2wheelcentral.com/vfrauto.htm">rumors

Everything matches with previous spy pics.

It looks like it is a done deal.

You are correct, I shouldn't have said rumor. The bike is a done deal, it is just a matter of seeing how Honda markets, it. No one is sure if it is to replace the ST, or the Interceptor, or possibly a big brother to the current Interceptor.

Purchasing a 2007 VFR (non-ABS)

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2007 VFR and I'm wondering what people think of this particular model year. Is it prone to any issues or recalls? Its a step up for me, I currently have a 600 Bandit. I am into the touring aspect of motorcycling and not scaring myself silly with speed. I have always thought I will end up with a FJR1300 but not sure I'm ready for a liter bike as well as the 600+ lb weight. Just trying to do a little research as well as get some opinions of of folks whol have them. Thanks.

If what you describe as your intentions are true, it is probably the perfect bike. There really isn't a step between the VFR and the FJR. I went the other direction from an ST 1300 to a gen V VFR and couldn't be happier. Just need to get the Heli bars installed and get my sargent seat refurbed and all will be good. I will be upgrading the suspension eventually, but that's not critical. I haven't heard of any issues with the '07 in particular.

Bought my 07 with 440 miles on it in November of 08. I have 1667 on it right now, no issues, except for not being able to ride it enough and not having the first service done yet(Shitty of me I know). The first pic on this thread is my bike, I think most of the 07's come in this color scheme, I think they come in Red also, but not for sure about that. Its a great bike, not to big, but big enough to get out of its own way real quick like

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to take a look at the bike this weekend, I sat on a silver (09 I think) the other day and I like the size, I would probably shop around for some handlebar risers though. I'm used to the standard position on my Bandit. Hopefully if Jupiter aligns with Mars I will get the bike.

Its being offered for 6600 dollars, it has the hard bags, only 600ish miles, and no scratches or flaws. It seems like a fair deal. Pretty much what it bluebooks for.

The only other concern I have is the little turbo boost it has when all four valves open, that will take some getting used to.
