Nice!

I'll be headed back from a big ride to the coast and hitting the same roads about the 12-13-14 of September on my 93 VFR750.

Last year...

@ RocketJohn.

Can sounds great.

Given that it's a Danmoto I imagine you got it on ebay.

How much $$$ and how is the build quality? i've heard mixed reviews

I bought it directly from them off their website and saved a bit from ebay price ... $88 and about $50 for shipping depending on where you live.

I wanted an audible pipe, but I was really drawn to this pipe for a few reasons:
1) first the 5 sided design really looked like it was designed for this bike, very nice lines
2) the alum finish matches the frame exactly
3) Price is affordable
4) the danmoto cans sound good from what I could tell on youtube
5) it was different and not just another cheap round can...

the negatives:
1) not cheap to "send it back" if you don't like it
2) the passenger foot peg doesn't quite fit flush with it, so the can rubs it but its not noticeable
3) there is no rubber stopper as the stock can has so the center stand just rests on the mid pipe, but it doesn't appear to be an issue
4) the mid pipe had to be caressed quite a bit to get it to fit into the can as the tolerances were so tight, but the upside is absolutely no leakage at the joints...

I am really happy with this pipe so far... the looks, the sound, the weight...

OK, I bought the carbon fiber GP danmoto exhaust for my 2000. I need a low mount exhaust so I can put some hard bags on, so I figure for the price, it's worth a try. Thanks for the video. I meant to ask, what was the shipping time?

+1 on the recently aquired, gently used yellow 2000, brotha!

I got to say the fuel economy is a little painful after coming off a DL650. The best I've been able to get out of it is 35mpg. Granted I do a lot of short city commuting. Anyone squeak 40 out of a 5th gen?

That's probably close to normal for stop and go city commuting, but out on the highways and backroads mileage is much higher. I've seen 50 mpg with mine. Around town I get around 40 mpg.

Check the service manual for mileage issues. Maybe you need to do some maintenance.

I *could* get well over 40 on the highway, but it is too enticing to keep twisting that throttle!
