No goofy....he's strapping the thing down to the trailer. (1903 horse drawn fire wagon)
I used 1-shot gold size for this, which is what I use for most of my trucks and stuff. It tacks off in half an hour, and stays open for acouple hours, so it's easy to work with. For fine gold projects, I'll use a slow size. As for something to practice on, I'd go to the junkyard and pick up a car fender. You can sling all the paint you want on it, and wipe it off when you're through. I don't know about any 'cheap' paint you could work with, other than water colours or something...but they wouldn't work for pinstirping with. Go to a sign shop and see if they'll sell you a left over can of salmon or peacock blue, or some other colour that they have an abundance of they they'll probably never use. You're just gonna use it to practice with anyways. here's a great source of inspiration for yas.... http://www.pinheadlounge.com/ oh....and "THANKYOU" for the kind words!!

i agree, h/bar's 1", riser's look to be only 5/8", would bend when you tried to make your first turn, no throttle cable on it so it's not quite finished, riser's probably snapped when he pushed it back into the garage,

Man, I have been thinking about that bike for years, trying to remember what it was. It was on the cover of a Choppers or Big Bike magazine I had as a teenager in the 70s. In those days its styling and the one piece bodywork was super radical. It took that Ness low rider look and Perewitz needle nose look one huge step further.
Any more info on who built it?
