Your doing an excellent job with the bike and really like the direction things have gone. What I can really appreciate is the simplicity of the setup. I look forward to the day I can start welding so I can do similar types of things.

Loving your build
congrats on a sweet job So i got inspired and swapped a yammie it175 for a 71 lightning 650 and a 70 royal star 500. Both been in a basement for close to 30 yrs I hadda a couple of beeza chops way back in the day but I think I'm going to strip the 650 to a minimalist cafe and me mate is going to run the 500 as is cos it's a nice little original beeza

Cheers.
I know these bsa motors inside out and are easy to work on also being a pack rat has it's uses as I still have all my withworth spanners and I have tin boxes full of nuts and bolts from when I useta only run limey bikes. Even found a box full of lucas coils and points Both have decent compression and both have spark so if they both run we'll keep them and if not we'll use them for target practice ![]() old pic of my trumpet chop from a while back , okay a really long while back then

Havent posted up any progress picts lattely. Mainly because there hasnt been much. Ive been in a spending pattern lattely. Save, Spend, wait, and repeat.
Well the fruits of all that waiting are starting to pay off. Parts are arriving. Just back from Buchannen are my Akront wheels drilled to fit the stock hubs and new polished stainless steel spokes and nipples. And new spoke wrench. Very nice. ![]() ![]() And last night a box came in from Barnett. New custom made to my specs, braided stainless steel housing control cables. They are extremely nice. ![]() ![]() And on impulse I bought something to help fill in the bare RH side of the bike. I think I like it. Needs some adjustment with the mounting but I think it will work out. ![]() And ive been working on figuring out the wiring. Im using a Sparx ignition and power box that eliminates the battery. Should be pretty simple to lay out once I get all the parts. Collecting wire, connectors, proper wire crimpers, heat shrink tubing...stuff like that. Still need a few parts before I start that. Made this drawing myself on the computer at work.

That will resolve itself eventually. You could put a turn down tip on the exhaust.

![]() No I have an idea that might make it usable. Well see. I havent had much time to work on it. Spring is in the air and the dirt and street bikes need prepping. And to add to the chaos I just added a 06 YZ250F to the stable last weekend. That makes what ....counting in head.... 7 bikes now. I think I might need an intervention soon
