Congrats Mike! Kids are a ton of fun (but cut WAY into your riding time!)

Got a 2.5 YO boy who needs to learn how to balance a bicycle first... we bought him a "run bike" (regular, small bicycle with no pedals - make your own (save $) by removing the cranks and bottom bracket) but he did straddle an Oset electric mini in a motorbike shop north of Everett WA this summer. One of these should fit him in the next year or so, then he can rip it up in the back yard! (Apparently someone in Nelson BC (?) carries them...)

Until then, I take him down to Bow Cycle occasionally as a reward for good behaviour (so he can sit on a Yammy PW 50... still too big!)

My 4 month old daughter just chews on the head or feet of her latex giraffe... just starting to roll over; and drools copious amounts! So she is a work in progress...

One day I hope they both take to the outdoors and enjoy bicycles and motorbikes and camping!

Hi All,
Does anyone know the condition of Powderface after they had the ralley on it last weekend? I was hoping to head out there this weekend before winter hits us next week (if the weather network is to be believed...). I was out last Saturday and it was in pretty good condition.
Also, I met a couple of guys on KLRs in Bragg Creek heading down to try Gorge creek. Does anyone here know if they completed the whole trail? I've been curious about that section of trail between the gates? It is obviously closed to automobiles but is it closed (in the eyes of the municipality) to motorized vehicles who could potentially make it past the washed out section?
Thanks
P

Gorge Creek Trail!

Closed to all motorized vehicles. You can get around on a bike but don't try it on a weekend. Too many people out then along with johnie law.

Saturday Nov 13

Calgary was around 12C when I left at 1 pm today - at the start of Powderface 40 mins later it was 4C. There was some snow around in the shaded areas and it look like it may have been packing on the road - didn't want to chance it on my worn tires. Judging by the forecast, it's only going to be worse next week - I think our season out this way is done

Today we went out to Highwood Pass. I would say the season is just about done as well. It was slightly below zero at the top with quite a bit of snow in the ditches and a bit of ice on a few sections of the road.

Damn season is too short here in Calgary! Calgary has a heavy snowfall warning for Monday night. 5+ cms in town...

Nice pics though. I just winterized the 2-strokes and lawnmower today... Katie M is still sitting and looking hopeful... nose pointing out the garage, waiting to go for a rip... not good odds it will happen! Might be time to get the battery tender out...

I'd say the season is done for me.
I was out getting firewood in Sibbald / 68 down by the rifle range and there were several very icy corners. We never got as far a the north end of Powderface but I'd assume that it's the same.

Of course this post is useless as we're supposed to get 5-10cm snow tonight and highs of -12 in the next couple days.

Yeah, I just put the Duc away for the season Thursday afternoon. Stupid winter. Just as the new crash bars showed up today...I'll just have to crash twice next year!

Heading to California from the 18th of December to January 2nd. Anyone else going to be down there then? I'm wishing my flight left on November 18th!

Ahhh you teachers... I am jealous! Are you gonna ride? I only get 10 days this year at Xmas and with 2 young 'uns, we ain't going anywhere!

But come spring... I am looking at a trip somewhere south for a week (might just be me!) and have been making family plans for 2 weeks in Bend Oregon in late Aug / early Sept (bicycles and hopefully Katie M!)
