If I don't get a response I will just head out without stopping in Cochrane.
Flanders and I are heading to Cochrane for lunch (~12:30) then out to Wiaporous on easy to moderate double track as we'll be loaded down with camping equipment. Spending the afternoon riding and then staying the night and drinking an entire bottle of Pyrat rum... LOL.

I'm on my 990 and Flanders is on a DRZ400. I'll check on here in the AM.

Cheers,

Wes

Yeah, but we have good food, cheap drugs, and lots of good landscapers.

You missed out. Flanders and I are currently three sheets to the wind on top of a ridge in W
Wiaporous. Dropped the 990 a few times on downhills bur I'm completely amazed at how good this bike is.

Should have joined you guys. My day out in the mountains hiking and people watching while sipping coffee was downgraded to a few hours at the dog park...

I don't know why I hold plans with anybody when the other option is to ride...

If it makes you feel better, I'm gonna be hung over tomorrow for the ride out...

And the fact that I have 3G here makes me want to vomit...

I'm curious to know where you are. Hotspots are good to know of out there..

Enjoy the night! Tomorrow will be a chilly ride out. I'd still rather be out there!

Thanks for letting me join you for the ride out. It was a very fun trail to a great view. Nice to know there is cell coverage from there. I hope Flanders enjoys the jerkey, slim jims, trail mix, and rum for supper.

I was quite surpised at how tricky the trail was given the 990 rider chose it for the maiden trip. I will no longer assume that if a big bike is leading that the trail will be easy,

Since our riding season is quickly coming to an end, anybody interested in a poser night to discuss this years riding and next years plans?

Figure a warm night/day where we can meet at a coffee shop and BS. Good way to meet new people, check out different bikes and set-ups, and have a short ride where weather is less an issue. Plus fall riding of any kind is the best!

Or you should no longer assume that a 990 rider isnt an idiot... LOL

Thanks for coming along Warren, it was good to meet another inmate. And to be clear, we only had 6 beer, a bottle of wine, half a bottle of Pyrat rum and 2 flasks of spiced rum. Oh, and a small bottle of coke... Pretty sure we packed our 1 flask of rum so at least we didnt go overboard.... Never underestimate the power of stupid...

Ya, of the 3 or four groups that came by when we were setting up camp, all of them were quite stunned at the fact that the 990 fully loaded was up that trail. I definitely got better on the down hills as time went on but not before putting some fresh scratches on the beast.

A few pics:

Flanders was having trouble on the last climb. Turned out he had a flat. Turns out the KTM bags are quite useful when changing a tire...

Unloaded and zipped down to the creek to get some water

And finally unpacked. Man we're lucky to live where we do!

That last picture is great, and the statement has truth that many people take for granted.

Looks like a good time. Not a big drinker myself but something to warm (or numb) the sleep would have been great!

How did you guys fair overnight? Didn't get that cold here (6-7?) but up there on a treeless hill must have been pushing 0.
