What small DS bike are you riding now?

We're riding Mclean tomorrow night on dirtbikes (actually the guy who bought your tank/spares and I).

The Katoom is a fantastic machine that gives me fits all the time. I just had Gefr send me some new fuel filters from Greece. The 990 won't pull over ~5,000rpm and is stumbling and dying. Seems to be a common issue.

I had a fuel petcock spontaneously fail on the trail a couple months back.

The battery just gave up the ghost and it was a bitch to find a replacement in my part of the world. I've got one with half the CCA in right now that seems to be doing the trick.

The bike is amazing in what it can do though. It just goes.

As for the Goldwing, don't knock it. It is an old one, and it is naked.

I'll be back in town late July/August and will stop by the garage for a beer if you are around.

I need to work on the filter thing as well. It appears to me that the prefilter never clogs and can be cleaned reasonably well. The paper filter is after the pump and before the output to the injector rails. As soon as I have problems, I'm going to throw out the $6 paper filter that the assholes at KTM charge $120 for an insert a field servicable filter in line after the pump.

Oh, and I'm not hacking the sewing machine, it was just a rebutle for you commenting on me having too many bikes ;-)

Cheers,

Wes

I'm curious if anybody here in Calgary is heading to D2D in Dawson via the Stewart/Cassiar Hwy.

There's at least a couple of us meeting at the camp store at 6 tonight for a ride... single-track ride with dual-sported dirt bikes

What are the details on Friday's ride? I would like to get out on my YZ250F or are you taking street legal bikes?

Cheers

Still woking it out and no, I think 3 of us are on offroad only bikes. Likely 1pm at the south loading area or up by the gravel pit. I'll post one I sort it out.

Must have missed you. We were at the staging area at 5:30. Most definitely not DS friendly ride. SOOO glad I wasn't on my XRR.

Had fun though. Did some very tight technical trails with tons of logs, then popped up on Viagra ridge using the back route, then some of barwell (at least thats what I call it), then through some old Grizzly race track, Ewok (I think it's called?), and popped back out at the trucks again. I don't know trials. I just ride them. I haven't rode dirt bike in almost two years so a few of these trails were new to me, or I've only done them once or twice. I swept the Grizzly the one year so I'm familiar with that loop.

Heading out Sunday again. Not sure if Mclean or Wiaparous.

I will be there too on a YZ250F.
I will try my best for 1 but might be 15 minutes late if you don't mind waiting. If not I will try to find you and catch up.

Cheers

Pretty sure you can, I've gone the other way on it coming off Hwy 68 and onto that road.

No problems with this route mix of gravel and pavement
