Best bet would be Anderwerks in Calgary. Dave will often put a traveler in need ahead of scheduled work. Otherwise you could try Blackfoot Mottorad, but I wouldn't expect any special consideration from them.

Thanks a lot. I'll be contacting both of those places in the morning as soon as they open. I found a thread that shows how to replace the seal and I got the part number from it. If I can get a hold of the part I may try to replace it myself. Thanks for your help! Ride on.

If you need a garage to work in let me know. I'm in the far north. I believe I'm around tomorrow.

Best is to PM if I'm needed. I'll check in the AM.

I'm in Red Deer and have a new seal. Maybe 3 hours away. I hope blackfoot in calgary has parts for you, they didn't for me when I rebuilt my fd recently.
Now for the big question. Is your big bearing ok? Any play in the rear wheel at 12-6 or 3-9? I'll send you a pm with my email if you need my seal.

If the seal can make it's way to me here in Calgary, I'll be riding out through Lake Louise Sunday and could deliver it the rest of the way if that becomes necessary.

I also have a fully equipped workshop to work in if you can make it into the city and can't get either shop to do the work in time.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post! I rode over to anderwerks this morning and they sold me the new seal and bearing. They were very helpful and offered suggestions on the best way to replace it in the parking lot. We ended up breaking the other bearing. The small one on the other side of the crown gear. So now the whole assembly is in route to anderwerks so the guys there can fix our mess. Thank you everyone! Y'all are a good group of folks.

Some day you can look back on this and laugh......some day. BTW, I'd still rather be where you are than where I am.

Anyone going to Horizons Unlimited in Nakusp or BC Big Traillie this year? Looking for riding partners.

Info on SE BC off-road routes...

For anyone planning a DS ride in SE BC, this site is worth checking out:
http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/kootenay/eco/accessmaps.htm

Thanks go out to Patricia Burley, BC Conservation Officer in Fernie, for the link.

Also note that some trails that are off limits have vibration sensing cameras for enforcement, and I believe the fines are very steep (they can take your vehicle). This report on enforcement makes for some interesting reading:

Too many rules these days saying where and what you can do.
