Thanks for the offer - but I have a plated 250 2-stroke for the dirty bits. Looking for something a bit more road oriented than the TE610... a Ducati Elefant would fit the bill very nicely :)

Hey everyone!!

New to the forum, I'm going to be picking up an adventure bike by next spring and looking at all the pictures and reading about the rides is making me pretty excited to get out and explore off the beaten path!!!

Current ride is a 2008 KTM 950 SM but an adventure bike is going to be the new steed, I ride lots of single track and will be spooning the trellies on the dirtbike right away for winter trail riding so at least I have that to hold me over for now...

Anyways some awesome shots everyone!!!!

Yes - same bike is in the Flea Market here too... and I have a business trip to Minneapolis in a few weeks. Hoping to get a chance to check it out in the flesh.

Undecided as to what I'll replace it with... likely a multi-cylinder adv touring ride. Looking forward to seeing what the manufacturers have at the bike show in 2014.

Husky to KTM...

There's nothing more frustrating than buying a bike at the tail end of the season when it's puking snow. Closed a deal for this 950 earlier today - picking it up down in the States in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for some half-decent riding weather later this month to give it a test ride or two.

Way to Go!

Andy! You're going to really like that bike. I still have fond memories. About time you got a big one.

Thanks Dick - I remember riding yours a few years back thinking that some day I'll have to get one. Looking forward to getting out on some longer trips that weren't so easy to manage with the thumper.

It's a 2006 950, barely broken in with only 5500 miles. Plenty of upgrades on it from stock (Superplush suspension, 2-into-1 Akro exhaust, Renazco seat, Safari tanks, etc). I'm itching to ride it. May try to haul it south for a spell before spring to try it out.

I'm looking in to getting my suspension re-valved too. Apparently these local guys do good work, but a trip down to San Fran is also pretty temping.

I really want to do my suspension and may have to plan a little ride to San Fran to do it. No sense shipping when you can ride down. I would like to hear that exhaust and am sure I will when the snow is gone. That will be the first one with Safari Tanks around here that I know of.[/QUOTE]

Ssupension work...

Guys - Dave Clarke at Ride Concepts (in Chestermere) does great work on suspension if you are looking for revalving & respringing. I'm sure he could work wonders with the WP forks/shocks on a KTM twin.

I feel the same way. Just picked up a 2012 Super Tenere yesterday in Edmonton while it was puking snow.
