McLean Cr and Hunters Valley are still snowed in as of last week, but the FTR is good to go less todays snow. A few more weeks will get things moving if we get lots of rain.

Dry track from Nordegg to Edson the last two days on the FTR and Camp 15 road
(C-15)

From JB.

First batch of goodies in...

4.75G Acerbis fuel tank for some serious desert mileage, Flatland Racing Skid pan to replace the silly plastic thing on there now (might be good for moto tracks, but not rocks) and some Acerbis rallye barkbusters. :)

Only thing I got around to was the skid pan. Between house hunting, work and getting my place ready for sale I just have ZERO time. Add this stupid snow storm which arrived on the very day I come out of the field for a 5 day break and I'm so sad... lol!

Shiny!

just bought a ktm690e so itching to get out.

ps, 2012 drzs, ktm 690e safari tank and luggage rack for sale.

Nice.
I just did something similar. We've been busy moving into a new place. I was busy with book shelves and curtains while the bikes sat, neglected.
I have a pile of parts at home waiting to go onto a few different bikes, too. Not to mention another pile of parts which IS a bike.

I hope your tank goes on easy. I just put a Clark tank onto my Honda 350. I had to put it over a table vice and crank it open. I left it for a few weeks. Then it slid over the frame/tank mounts.

It looks like it'll be nice when I'm back in town.

I was just drooling over that and a 2014 500exc in edmonton today. But cycleworks lowballed me pretty hard on my trade in...a 08 cbr 1000rr with 2000km. Apparently it was worth the bottom figure on the blue book cause I don't have the owners manual or service records.

Oh so you were the lucky one to pick up that sweet 690 with the safari tank.
Can I be so bold as to ask what you got it for? You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

Cheers, Have a fun on that awesome machine.

Weather is getting warmer. Job is sucking more life out of me. I'm trying really hard to resist the urge to quit my job. I should be able to make it until the end of my shift. And not stab anybody in the throat with my pen - thats the tricky part. Still 3 more days...

Me too... I got to play today though!

Doesn't even look like the same bike now... Can't wait for the big changes for it... Some mondo lights and gearing and desert goodies...

It's starting to look like something to ride, now!

I hope to finally put my 510 back together.
It needs to go from this:

Back to this:

Having a properly set up bike is a beautiful thing. I'm excited to see how your 450X progresses. My friend has one as well. He hasn't changed it though.

Sick... Love that Safari tank man! I completely agree that having a bike set up for one person's specific needs is epic. My 450EXC is just like that... Someone else could get on it and absolutely hate it, but it's perfect for me! I'm hoping that the 450X is a good platform for myself and the other guy I'll be riding it with down there. We're both that same build (roughly) and height so we should be ok with a tiny compromise on suspension. Gotta get some klicks on it before I think about suspension though. Might be fine the way it is, :)

You can't see the really nice mods behind the tank. Fluidyne rads, water pump and an oil cooler.

I imagine you'll come back wanting a stiffer front end and a steering dampener at the very least.
This 510 is the first bike I've had a dampener on; I bloody love the thing.
