Nostalgia is a funny thing.

Stuff like that catches my eye, too. I always get a little excited when I see a Transalp. They were a really nice bike, back then.

So here is the video of Peter's ordeal; edited as a documentary of what he went through, and the great job EMS did getting him out and to the hospital.

Ironically, the city streets hurt more.

Just start wearing the hospital gown around the lobby with the opening at the front. They'll send you home in short order.

Had a great time at McLean last night. It was a solo excursion, so risk-taking was at a minimum (Peter's mishap is still very fresh in my mind). The single track trails down by Barwell Mtn are in great shape right now.

That would be a challenge on the GS. Don't think I could have negotiated under that log! Good variety of terrain.

If there were several people interested then everyone could take turns making routes for the others to ride.

The Rally Navigator program makes it pretty easy to create route and print roll charts using Google Earth.

Anyone interested?
A few people have talked about something like that up here but nothing yet.

Hey Jeremy, I'm sure we can find enough ppl to make it work. FYI, no MRT but will be at the LA-Barstow-Vegas event.

ouch, took it like a champ. I've had my shoulder out many times, not broken though, but if that was me I would be screaming "DON'T TOUCH ME" the whole time.

Jeepers that must have hurt, well done for keeping it together. I kept waiting for them to administer the pain meds prior to moving you...

Hope you heal well

Mark's Bike.

Seems a decent fellow. Haven't ridden with him yet. Lives in Calgary.

I live!

For those following my mis-adventure riding, I am finally home! I have made tremendous progress in the past week. I can walk on my ankle, my broken ribs on the right side are mending nicely. My scapula is still causing pain and mobility issues, but improves daily. A least they gave me some decent meds!

A big thanks go out to Lav1200, XSocal, dirtydeeds, Calgary06, Lycan1, Fatallybitten and any others (i may have missed) who offered support and encouragement. The thought of getting back in the saddle to ride with any of you fine gentlemen is providing ample motivation to keep my sprits up and heal fast!

The selfless efforts people made on my behalf to ensure my bike and property were returned to to me safe and sound leaves me speechless.

Let's all ponder the lessons learned and embrace this strong community we have.

Hope to see you all soon on the dirt!

Peter
