Irrigation Canal ride- Carseland to Milo

On Tue May 13 four of us older guys did the irrigation canal gravel road ride from
Carseland to Milo (near Lake McGregor). Conditions were very good just like having your own gravel road - Warning! corners are flat not banked.

The bridge over the Bow river at Gleichen is still not fixed. and the Crowfoot ferry east of Cluny is still closed.
Had nice lunch in Milo then headed north to Cluny and then NW around Namaka Lake all on gravel and black dirt roads back to Langdon and Calgary. About 330 km and 6 hours.
Gas available at Carseland, Hwy1 just north of Cluny, not sure about Milo.

I have a spare somewhere. I bought two from Highway Dirt bikes. I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

Edit - found it. Yours for what I paid ($10). Send me a pm.

This looks like a ton of fun. Maybe if I found this thread earlier I wouldn't have sold my wr250r. Do you have a regular crowd that DS rides in Edmonton Area?

Hot down south

I'm down in Sunnyside Washington to see the Nitro National Hill climb with a couple of other ADVers. My first ride of the season since breaking my leg back in March. Great riding so far, and today it was downright hot out. Lav1200 plotted out a great ride, with a good mix of off-road and twisty pavement!

Hey, Earl, what bike do you recommend I get to join you 'older guys' on the gravel?

Frank - we saw a few nitro-fuelled KTM 1190s down here at the hill climb comp... you'd have no trouble keeping up with Earl and the gang on one of those. Video of the insanity we saw when we get back :)

Too slow.

Better for serious dirt but slow for anything else.
