Cool

Good stuff, and nice picture of a spot I know well.

I added some stuff to my Layin' down tracks thread. You will enjoy a couple of them.

Happy New Year

Looking forward to a great year of riding in 2015. Hope to get a lot more mileage on the big bike and meet more of you guys than I managed last season.

For now it's winter hibernation mode while taking care of annual maintenance items...

I hear great things about Konflict in Washington. Ride Concepts does good work to.

Yeah, I wanna send my front and rear to Konflict for stretch, et al. She's begging for longer legs!

Yes - previous owner had Superplush raise them to S specs and revalve them.

Nothing too major for me to do on it this winter - just checking the valve clearances, cooling system flush and changing the wp shaft. I was lucky and picked it up with almost all the mods I wanted already done to it.

BK - Not sure if you know of Willie Vass in Carstairs. He traveled with Super Bike for years and now runs a small shop in Carstairs. He resolved the issue with the stock forks on my 990. Re-sprung etc. Great guy. Worth a call for sure.

Thumb From Calgary

Just saying hello to all. I'm in Calgary & fairly new to the Adv Forum. I'm also just back into riding after 20 yrs. I put 6K on my new GS last summer around Calgary, probably seen some of you in passing ??? It would be good to meet up in the spring for some riding. I will back read this thread in my spare time & stay tuned for the duration.

Anyone planning on going to the StumpJumpers Desert 100 race this year? Desert 100

One the few actual race events that have an ADV class. The class is made up mostly of 690/950/990 KTMs but a few BMWs too. There are 4 or 5 of us headed down again this year. It's always a great time

I'll be doing the race on my XR250R - it'll be the actual race course rather than the dual sport course.

I've wanted to do a desert race for many decades so now that I have my toy bike I've got everything I need to make my dream come true. My goal is to complete the race at tourist pace rather than actually ride on the edge. At my age (old) I'll be doing only 1 lap (50 miles).

I'm also considering taking my 250 for this. Not sure I want to beat myself (and the bike) up by taking a 500 lb Adv machine through that course. I would also be a 1-lapper (over 50 club).
