what's your waterproofing method, and have you had any test rides in the rain?

Curious, because I got soaked in my on the first 2hr wet ride. I do mean soaked, every inch.

I've since applied aerosol Sillicone from Atsko, their heavy duty version in the purple can, but I might get my answers on the products affectiveness soon enough, as I'll be riding up the east coast this afternoon/evening

i used the atsko stuff too.
it is the one from walmart with the orange cap.
two things that may prevent the lombard from being a good long term/ long distance tourer:the spray looses effectiveness over time and will need to be reapplied, folds in the suit when you are riding retain pools of water.

It is written earlier in this thread that the Nikwax stuff is supposed to work well on these and other riding suits.
I just got the Lombard and I will be washing it in that stuff soon.

I'm really torn between putting in an order for the Lombard V3 (and waiting) or getting the Joe Rocket from NewEnough now as the prices are pretty comparably since I got one of NE's coupons....

Waterproofing

I notice on the V3 page it states:
Waterproofing features on the suit include:
  • Built in Drench Quench waterproof liner
  • Waterproof YKK zippers on all vents/pockets
  • Dual front flap (main full length zipper is not waterproof)
Did the V2 suit have the Drench Quench built in liner?

Hi Ghazi,

The price is part of it. Reading on the features and impressions, it seems to me that once people do some water-proofing on the Teiz, they're sounding pretty happy with it overall. The JR claims waterproof, but I haven't read anything so far that talks about how much that's been tested.

The other thing is the JR suit makes a big deal of its 'Big Air' ventilation, and since the suit would see some warm/hot weather use, air flow and comfort is a factor for me.

I like the color variety in the Teiz suit better.

Chuck

yellow_pig: the Ventura jackets are not coming out soon. we are concentrating on the leather jackets/suits and textile suits at the moment.

testcase: from the specs and pictures i really don't think that the JR suit has better ventilation.

Ghazi,

Is the hi-viz orange listed in the color chart available for the V3?
