950SE Tail Cleanup

So I'm not loving the taillight, license, and signal set up on my jalopy. What kind of solutions have you tinkerers come up with, and is there something commercially available that works well?

Just cut it off, relocate the turn signals, and use the old turn signal holes to mount some ally angle for the license plate.

In Texas we need to show an inspection sticker as well as plate, so it's not as clean as it could be.

I also believe the KTM tail-tidy kit for an 950SM fit's the SE.

I made them from a piece of aluminum angle, then spray painted them black. Very easy to make.

Nice. I've had my tail unbolted for a few days while I've been thinking about how/where to cut the OEM monstrosity...

For others contemplating cutting the stock part... They are pretty cheap if you decide you hate it and want to go back to stock. Like $22 from cheapcycleparts.

Funny, I got the same question over PM. I always intended on using the license plate bolts that have LED's in them, but I have not had an any issues so far, so I never got around to putting them on.

They are about $15~20 off ebay, search using "LED License Plate"

These are from www.customdynamics.com, they used to make the best LED stuff, now their site is full of tat.

I personally could care less if it has a license plate light, but if you wanted one, it would be easy enough to do something like this:

here

or these

I'm running the "bullet-tip" turn indicators up front (far left in picture below) and the LED license plate bracket out back. Really cleans up the look.

Here is what I did with the rear "bob job" to fill the hole that's created after removal of that monstrosity of a plate bracket:

A little Hilti foam for a foundation, bondo, sand, wet sand, paint and go baby Go!

Thanks all, I'm gonna do whar Shagger did. I ordered up some LED bolts too, just so I don't have to deal with the headache of an ambitious LEO.

Hey KATOOMER could you post a picture of the LED license plated bracket w/ the LED blinkers working. I've always been curious to see how bright and functional those things are.

Thanks, Dan
