Talking I love this bike! Street Legal Yamaha WR's

I dont know if there has been any threads previously, but i was just wondering if anyone else has a street legal WR 400/426/450 and has any pics?

I love my bike, IMO a perfect bike for offroad, and mine does great on the highway also. I added a +1 front sprocket, and -2 rear, and will go 60 mph on the highway quite easily....ive gotten it up to about 90mph, and it was pulling real slow from that point, so I let off. Other than that, It has all the "free mods, uncorked" and has a full FMF t4 exhaust.

Here is a picture:

Anyone else have any pics of theirs?

Wish they would make a factory 450 like the 250. I just pulled the trigger on a 530 KTM, but if there were a street legal WR450 it would have been a tough choice.

Yeah, let's see 'em!

BTW, are the later bikes any more nimble in the tight stuff than the 400's?

I had a 2003 WR250F with Baja Designs Dual Sport Kit installed.
It was a blast to ride on the trails, zipping around the neighborhood and out playing in the fields.
The little 250cc engine doesn't have much power to sustain the street/highway speed without changing out the spricket, but then makes it hard to ride in the dirt with street gearing.

Maybe 450cc would be better if you plan to make it a true dual sport.

Yes in a way, the later models are quite a lot lighter, but they also hit harder and make ~12 more hp which can make them a bit of a handful. On balance whether they are more nimble on the woods will depend on how you ride etc.

Thanks
That is a 2007 BMW G650 X Challenge, great dual sport bike and has a 3 year 36K warranty
The tool bag is from MSR. I cut a piece of plexi to the shape of the bag drilled 4 holes through the plexi, bag, and fender to bolt it down. I heard if you just use the straps after awhile they fall off. The bag no longer moves, I love getting the weight of the tools off my back.

I had a 99 WR400 with a dual sport kit and a street license. I'm sorry I ever got rid of it. It was a wonderful bike.

Here's my street legal 04 wr450 and my sons street legal 03 wr250. The 450 is an awesome bike but for the street it needs a 6th gear. As a trail bike it is just about perfect. I bought a Husky te 610 for the true dualsport riding that i do and on the street the husky wins hands down but in the woods the Husky is good and the wr is king even better than my brothers 07 ktm 450 but the ktm does has a 6th gear. but i love my 450 and would never sell it except maybe to get a newer one.
