You can't see it in that picture but I have 4 of those velcro buttons on each side of the shield. That way I can adjust the Lip up or down. I like it. Like I have posted in the past, It ain't no RT and I had one (1200RT), but it removes the annoying wind.

Those panniers are great. They are strong, sturdy, airtight, waterproof, you can bend them and fall on them and they stay together. You can strap shit onto them, sit on them, use the lids for a nice flat surface. Designed and engineered very well indeed.

I was about to splash out on the TT cases but then RC46 threw a spanner in the works

so I have one more question for you...will the 41L bags hold two helmets? See post here....

Micatechs can hold two helmets

No, but you can fit ten helmets in each if you attach two fifty gallon drums.

Gentlemen,
I just registered as an adventurerider today. Retired the end of November, bought a new R1200GS and am planning a trip to Alaska in July or August, no firm dates. Was wondering if anybody is going that way during that time.
Would like to hook up with somebody, not a must, will travel alone.

welcome! go to some riders clubs, events, rallies in your area and you'll meet lots of riders, that is a good way to meet riding friends and you'll probably find some to ride legs of your trips with!

HAHAHAHA. This is expensive Touratech gear!! You can't fit even one helmet in. You can however hold 41 litres of water if you like and it will not get contaminated by the outside world. The leeching of aluminium into the water however may pose a risk to your long term health........

Seriously - no helmets.

Never really thought about it though, I've never needed to put my helmet in one of my panniers. Friends at laguna seca had both of their's nicked and they were very securely fastened to their bikes.......
