If it doesnt fit in the panniers (except for tents and sleepingbags) you do have too much crap

Thank you for the tip. I'm going to get Tapatalk today and see how it works. I may take your offer to help, if I can't figure it out. Thanks again.

Best—Bike—Ever.

I picked it her up in July of 2011. The last 2011 available in the US I was told. Flew down to LA and rode back up to SF. Perfect way to break it in

At the dealership July 2011:

And then in Death Valley Jan 2012:

I've put about 6k miles on it so far and it is easily the best bike I've ever owned. Easy favorite and I've had a few BMWs.

Additions so far:

• Pivot Pegz MKII (I like the II's better than the III's myself). I'm amazed someone didn't design these sooner. Crucial kit.
• BMW "tall" screen and "winglets". At $175 it's likely the only "bargain" in the entire BMW catalogue. Pefect fit and a really good addition for the occasional highway-haul.
• Metal cylidar guards: came with the bike for some reason. I didn't kick 'em out of bed
• Hepco bars. Good 'nuff for me. And cheap
• BMW Touratech luggage: yeah, these are pricey, but they just totally work. And I *hate* side-opening cases. I don't really use these for off road so much as touring. They are fantastic and rugged in that regard. And I dropped the bike fully on the right side and wow, there was barely a scratch Truth is, the racks alone work great with my Kriega 30L bags on top and on the sides and they help stiffen up the rear and protect muffler, etc.
• Rox risers. Love 'em.
• I've added little bits: gerbings permanent controller, caterpillar O-Ring / ghetto cruise control, pazzo levers
• oh, and I got rid of the canister. If you've ever over-filled one of these things, you'll know why...

I'll probably replace the shocks with Hyperpros or Ohlins around 30k.

This bike is perfect in so many ways. We have a long relationship ahead of us

I bought a 2011 in October of 2011. Maybe mine was the last one?

Perhaps the OP meant the last Triple Black model? I don't know how an individual dealer could legitimately claim they knew they had the last bike in the country. Seems like there would be too many unknowns.

They might know if they had the last one built for the 2011 season and shipped to the U.S., but they certainly couldn't know if it was the last one in the U.S. sitting in a showroom.

I think the dealer meant to say "last one close enough for you to fly-n-ride so your ass is mine!" In truth, I think it was the last one in California or something at the time. Either way, I was perfectly happy to do a fly-n-ride to LA.

OPs is not a triple black just black which might be correct.I bought my triple black in august but was looking for just a black model. I was told there were none available in SoCal to dealer trade for.....

Don't forget the sales factor! I'm sure that more than one dealer is guilty of fibbing a bit just to make a sale!
