Here's my bike with new black powder coated wheels, tank side panels, bars and instrument panel mount. As my wife says, "it is less of an old guy bike now!" Whatever! Three weeks of driving to work just about killed me!

That is the stock mount that came with the gps. I made a piece of metal to bolt it to and then made a shroud out of plastic to house it. I had the margins around the gps much tighter, but the unit needs to be angled to get it in and out so I had to give it a little more room. For all you guys that thin k a vibration isolating mount is necessary, I had (and still have) a street pilot three mounted on its stock garmin mount on my KLR for months now with no ill effects. I even beat the street pilot on a picnic table when it quit working and I thought it bit the dust, and it still works fine

Thats a marsee bavarian tail bag. I love it. It holds alot of crap. I go away on week long trips with what it and a 15 litre tank bag can hold. The tail bag expands to 44litres

After veiwing this thread I have come to a conclusion. The 1200GS is the nastiest, ugliest, bulldog chewing a wasp looking bike of all time...and god willing, it will be my next bike. Thanks for posting all the great pictures guys! I hope I can join your GS ranks soon!

I think the old 1150 was more gnarly looking. The 12GS is more like the less ugly, annoying little brother that says "anything you can do I can do better"

12GS with 1150 adv topcase

Liked the looks, would've liked the mount for the 1150 as well, but it wouldn't work, and I have no fabrication skills or equipment. So for now, I just bolted the thing on there. And of course BMW makes the rear rack with an arc, so you can't put anything on it! A few rubber washers, carriage bolts, locknuts, oversized washers and SHAZAAM!

from the back

it covers the passenger pillion a little, but not bad. I may remove the old mounting points and put on a back pad, so if wife ever shocks me and asks to go for a ride - I'll be ready!
