Sweet Bike. I like the blacked out look on the bike with the knobby tires.

Nice!

How do you like the 'Stich tank panniers? Any issues with unwanted movement or the pads/bags scratching up thte bike?

Is the front wheel custom made? Just curious about the blue hub.

Thanks

Thad

The Stich panniers are top on my list for something that i added on to the bike. I don't even take them off the bike anymore. As far as movenent, i do get some movement aft about 1" on occasion. When i notice my knees rubbing on them i just push them forward a little. I should just tighten up the bungee a little and it would eliminate that.

The rubber backing i find to be very good and no problems with them rubbing away my special Top Secret paint coating.

As far as my wheels, i sent them to Woody's Wheel Works and had them disassembled. Rims were Powder coated Black and both hubs Powder coated Blue to match the BMW Roundel. Also, the GS that is stamped on the side panels, I had Hand painted blue and outlined in Silver to match.

Wow, kook, that all black looks so cool on the 12GS that its a wonder why BMW doesn't offer it as an option. Very pretty!

Finally have things fully sorted out at 3500 miles. BMW Low seat is my choice over the stock and an aftermarket model. I used 25 mm handlebar risers and rotated the bars forward. I chose the Vario bags for many reasons: room enough for me, expandable, good reputation, very clean look to the bike when removed, availability, easy one handed operation, can be latched securely and not locked. Shortest Ram mount for Garmin 276c using the lower bar above the instrument pod.

Shot at the grist mill was taken today at the Woodson's Mill near Alhambra in Nelson County, Virginia south of Charlottesville.

Kook, your "STEALTH" GS is ballsy. What paint did you use to do the blacked out "STEALTH" look.

Keep up the good work!

SGT Large, as much as i would like to tell you, i'm very hesitant about telling anyone what material i used. I like having a distinct looking bike that gets peoples attention. But, what i can tell you is, it's not paint. Hope this helps.
