Beautiful photos and nice sceneries !

Officially you guys went through 5 languages (Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Montenegrin).
But in reality you went through 2 languages (Slovenian and Serb-Croatian or Croat-Serbian). They understand each other very well, e.g. difference is similar as to between UK-English and US-English.

However, anyone wishing to do the trip, there are plenty of tourism organisations/travel companies as well as bike clubs in the area and in general you will be pleased with hospitality and kindness of people from Balkans. I am sure there are many members from ex. Yugoslavia on this forum and they'll be glad to assist on your trips.

Cheers
Stjepan

I was a little unprepared for the situation, kept most of my money separate,as Damir suggested, but was to nervous to look for a 10.
The 20 was the first smaller bill I could find.
Luckily there wasn't a "next time"

Day-14 Petrovac to Dubrovnik 221K(138 miles)

Today we head back to Croatia, destination Dubrovnik for two days.
The highlights of today are Sveti Stefan ,Lovcen National Park and Kotor.

Sveti Stefan is a small tourist town which has managed to retain much of it's ancient character.
A favorite of the rich and famous, and considered among many as the most attractive spot on the Adriatic coast.(I don't agree),the tiny island rises dramatically a few yards off a beautiful curved beach.

Pictures of Sveti Stefan(getting my dog fix)

Our next stop was Lovcen NP.
Covering 640 ha,the park is dominated by Mount Lovcen and Njegos Mausoleum.

Self portrait from atop the mausoleum.

The bay of Kotor.

The Zumo view of the descent to Kotor

The road

Entering Kotor

The old city

Border into Croatia

Almost to Dubrovnik

Our home for the next two nights

Where we dined that evening.

Tomorrow we go here:

What did you think of Kotor? Last time I was there in early spring, the town had a creepy stillness to it.

I almost expected some sort of mob violence to suddenly erupt in the streets.

Beautiful bay. Did you take the ferry across?

I liked it,it was bustling when we went through it.
Maybe because it was on a Saturday
The bay is quite beautiful!!
No ferry ride for us this time, although we did take a couple later,
(hint hint.)

Actually, that's the only ferry I ever rode in the Balkans. (That I remember)

I hope you ate lots of cevapi and drank Vranac!

Day -15 Dubrovnik;rest day

Dubrovnik-the city of unique political and cultural heritage and beauty is ours to discover today
The entire old city is walled and closed to cars;it's divided in half by a wide street named Placa, also refered to as Stradun.
Stradun is the center of town and it connects the two opposite gates:the Ploce Gate to the east and Pile Gate to the west.
The city walls were built during the 13-16th centuries, and are considered the finest city walls in the world.
We were up early and grabbed a bus from our hotel to get to the old city.
It still amazes me how these drivers get these things through the city so well
We did the city walk early so we would beat the warmer afternoon sun and give us time to see more in the afternoon.

The Stradun

Is this the company you rented the motorcycles from? Adriatic Moto Tours?

http://www.smtours.com/

They seem to be well-located in Slovenia for this particular tour.

Day 16;Dubrovnik to Hvar Island 205K (128 miles)+ferry

We leave Dubrovnik and head to the island of Hvar.
One of the highlights on the way is the town of Ston.
Once a part of the Republic of Dubrovnik,it was and is still is a important salt producing town.
This led to the construction of a 5.5 Km wall in 1333,the longest fortification in Europe.

Catching the ferry to Hvar

Once on the island we grabbed lunch from the grocery store in the town of
Sucuraj.

Exploring the island.

The family mini-van

Tunnels:

The tunnel to our hotel.

The hotel was built into the cliff, and is the first hotel that i've been in, that all the rooms were below the lobby.(sorry I never did get a picture , )
Tomorrow we see the rest of the Island......
