As tempting as it is, I am more inclined towards a group ride rather than a solo ride on Saturday.

I think Phyllis wants me to go to Pierce at least one day next weekend. About time for me to pack the DR350 back up there. Probably have to go through snow to put it away. I could probably fit a 250 klx in the pickup if someone wanted to do a one way ride from Pierce after sawing up a little snow with his 250 cc snow chainsaw

The one picture looks an awful lot like Rice Creek canyon , not Joseph Creek?

Thumb Asotin Creek Wildlife Area

The gates should be open!!!!!!!!!! Yippee

The wildife area is open to the public year-round. However, motorized vehicle traffic is restricted by a gate on the County road from Dec 1st to March 31st of each year to minimize disturbance to wildlife. Gate opens April 1st.

I bet you can't get too far yet because of snow. The snow has been reduce a lot, but all it takes is one shady corner. I can think of several up there. However, we should check it out and see how far we can get.

Mud would be a big problem right now. If it quits raining it will be dust in a few weeks. I'm guessing that by next weekend the main roads will be in good shape.

We went up to Charlie Creek on Lick Fork and about 4 miles into the NF on Smoothing Iron before it turned to snow as of 4/6

Welome to ADV!

I always enjoy Smoothing Iron in the spring .

Got to look at the 2013 R1200GSW bikes at Mac's , several hours after the monthly meeting. 125 hp,in a 510 lb wet weight bike, oh my. I can probably keep up with Al if I ave one of those, well maybe not.

Good ride yesterday. 210 miles and we encountered no rain. After meeting at Mac's, Jim, Sorebutt, MtnSeeker and I headed out for a ride. We rode on Coyote grade road, Genesse-Julieatta road and then took a short break at the Julieatta gas station. We then headed up McGary road, Hubbard-Gulch road, Leland road, then county road P1, then down Cream ridge road, Hanks grade road, Lenore grade road.

We took a break down at the river and Jim had to make his way back to Grangeville. The rest of us headed up Summit grade road, then Jack canyon road, Ruebens-Gifford road back to highway 12. I then took Wawawai grade road back home.

Picture at Lenore Grade road.

I bet restlessrider wouldn't have a clue where we were without looking it up in his GPS.

It was a fun ride. There is a lot of good riding close to home. I really enjoy riding with you guys. Lets hope the weather gets nice for the weekend and we can go into the Blues and see if we can get stuck in snow.

When the snow is gone I bet Jim will show us some roads in his area.

Wow, a lot of white hair in that photo.

Another good ride with some good people, I'm feeling grateful. Looking forward to next weekend. I thought I knew North Idaho pretty well until I started to hang around you guys.

I am hoping to be out around Pierce for the 13th -17th, camping with a shotgun/rifle , turkeys/bears. Have to have the quad for the snowy areas and don't see how I can take the bike too.

[QUOTE=Mtnseker;21133543]Wow, a lot of white hair in that photo.

That was my thought also. "what a bunch of gray hair old farts".

Restlessrider probably wouldn't get in the picture because he didn't want to be the only one without gray hair.

looking forward to joining up

It was a mild winter. The snow just came off this weekend and then I started runng into our little buddies. The tics are out already in the higher country. Normally don't treat the dogs til the first of May at my place.

After the ride I usually go to Google maps and try to trace where all we went to get a 10,000 feet perspective. I could use the GPS but that is not as much fun.
