Are you going to be at the Tuesday "thanks for the road work" party at Lifebridge on Tues?
You are all welcome! In all honesty my time down there was the best time I've had as a CDOT Equipment Operator. I enjoy my work and it's icing on the cake to feel needed and to be doing work that so directly helps those of you that need that road to get home every night. The Overtime doesn't hurt either! I don't ever want these types of disasters to happen ,but if and when they do I want to be as big a part of the cleanup and repair that I can be. I love the challenge and take great pride in my abilities to help. Unfortunately I will not be down that way for the party or grand opening as I'm back up in the high country on my regular patrol preparing for winter. We've had quite a bit of rain up here too and we need to get our culverts clear, ditches graded, and snow removal equipment ready for the winter season. You all stay safe down there and be sure to give big props to the National Guard and Air Force. Those guys deserve most of the credit for sure! The roads may belong to Colorado but the emergency response and repair is their baby, we are there to assist them in their plans in any way they ask, it's that simple.

I won't speak for Geek, but I'm out. I came down with a cold yesterday and don't want to pass it along.

A little earlier tonight due to the checkpoint in place from 6:00 pm getting into Lyons. We were thinking 5'ish so people can get in before the checkpoint. They also only have the food truck right now which closes at about 6:30 due to it getting dark about then. I hear the bar downstairs is open and tonight they are having a band so it might be busy.

Hope to see you there! Who's else is in?

How do you plan to get past the checkpoint?

I'm a definite maybe, depending on how cold it is this evening. Rode my Norton to work today and it wasn't too bad but I didn't have to go very far.

Good turnout considering. It was nice to get back into Lyons after nearly 7 weeks.
