Electrical troubleshooting help needed in upstate NY

I need some assistance from someone that is, hopefully, relatively local to where I am. I have an electrical issue with my '06 Vstrom that, according to my research and poking around, isn't all that uncommon. I've got the bike stripped down so that lines can be traced but I'm just worried that I'll screw something else up if I do it myself. If you're good with this stuff and willing to travel to Mexico, NY, I'll pay you handsomely for your help. I'd like to leave the dealer as a last resort if possible. They could probably fix it but I'd rather have someone do it that can show me the way. I'm relatively intelligent, just not that brave as it turns out.

Need more details? Feel like calling me names because I'm not adventurous enough to tackle it myself? Go right ahead. I can take it. I think...

He's an electrical genius and may be heading through that way soon.

Here's a thought. Buy a copy of Tracy Martin's book and you'll be able to fix it yourself. Really. http://www.themotorbookstore.com/978...FQURHwod9gIATg
