Not a very good reproduction of the tag shot, though. Where's the statue?
School must have just let out across the street because alot of girls were stretching at the statue and also behind it getting ready to use the athletic fields there. Couldn't think of a way to get a picture without looking like a pervert

Just asking. Doesn't the bike have to be in the picture for the tag to be valid?

Tag shot is post #149 by sloburban. My small picture is not the tag shot. Same location.

Wait -- I get it -- you think I'm claiming the tag. Nope. The tag is still open!

Grab

NOW I'm claiming the tag

The New Castle Court House in Old New Castle.

Did you know that the "twelve mile circle" that forms Delaware's border with Pennsylvania was laid out with this building at its center?

Nice grab!

Old New Castle has some great history and architecture. Very cool, didn't know about the 12 mile circle that borders Pa.

Drop

Just about 12 miles (in a straight line) from the last tag, this is the highest point in Delaware.

Only Florida has a lower highest point!

Be careful, there's not much room to park and traffic is surprisingly heavy.

Got it!

Got it.

and here is the marker on the ground at the actual location:

And here I am pointing to the spot at the edge of the sidewalk, where the marker is located.

Nice tag , Jeff. Thanks for bringing me here.

Good grab, cyclejohn! For some reason I assumed that survey reference marker was across the street and never found it.

So where's the next tag? Time for some ping-pong!

Reguarding this tag: When my daughter and I rode there, I pulled up on the sidewalk to park(the same place Sloburban parked). As I was taking my photo a woman walked over from the corner house across the street. I thought she was coming to give me a hard time about parking on the sidewalk. When she walked over , she asked,"are you highpointers?" Apparently that is the name for folks who travel trying to visit the highest point in each of the states. This women's elderly mother lives in the corner house directly across the street. She knows quite a bit about this high point marker and it's history. If you have time to stop, I'll bet she would love to talk about it.

The New Tag

Here's the new tag:

This school was built more than 200 years ago. Evidence suggests that it may have been the first racially integrated public school in the state.
