Hot Wells Dunes question

I've never been to the Hot Wells Dunes Recreation Area near Safford and was thinking about going out there this coming weekend. My question is, are paddle tires needed there, or will good knobs work? I'll be riding an XR400 and my son a CRF230, both equipped with near-new Maxxis IT tires.

Thanks

Lots to ride with knobbies. The dunes are dunes. Paddles work the best but you can't go anywhere else.

The hot tub sure feels great after a long ride.

Never know what (or who) you will find in it....

Thanks for the reply studley. Turns out that I've got to work Saturday morning, so I guess we're going to postpone the trip. Oh, well, at least there are closer places to ride around Tucson. Thanks again.
