Rescuing my R100GS!

I'm sitting in the airport in Costa Rica, bored! My flight out of Mexico City was delayed for an hour due to heavy fog, and i missed my connecting flight to Quito, Ecuador. You see, i'm on my way to rescue my bike! 15 months ago i left the bike at a friends house in Quito and returned to Mexico City, living in Mexico and working in Vancouver. For the last few months i've been really sad! I just didn't have the money or opportunity to get my bike back. I tried to sell it, but all attempts failed. BUT, as luck would have it, i have a few weeks before i need to return to Vancouver, and my girlfriend talked to one of her friends who works for American Express travel and got me a return flight SUPER CHEAP!! So here i am, on the way to get my baby! The plan is to leave Quito in a few days after prepping the bike, and head down to Lima, Peru. Stick it on a boat and ship it back to Vancouver. Baby's coming home!!!

As you can see, this isn't ANY old '89 PD. I re-built this baby from scratch! Custom Chro-Mo sub frame, custom panniers, custom WP 4860 front end, dual plugged, ported and polished and nearly indestructible! Ride report to follow!

Wow

Ron:

Best wishes on the recovery. When you get back can you provide more details on your chro-moly subframe? Would love to see what you did and how you did it.

Gald to hear you are keeping your GS Ron, have a safe ride home!

Let me know if you will be blasting through Seattle on the way.

Thanx! The WP 4860's suit the bike very well. Coupled with a fully adjustable Wilburs on the back, this is one of the best suspended bikes i've ridden
Oh gawd, i'm gushing like a school girl now

Wow, can you ride that /2 back to Colorado. We can negotiate a reasonable price.
