See post #12, part of #3 in your diagram. I'm going to order a new bendix, brushes, and parts kit from Motorbins, and fix it my self.

You have a Bosch, and that diagram is for a Valeo.

Anton: Yes. I posted the picture for my 93 GS that has a Valeo I imagine. He didn't state what year his G/S was but it should look like this then?

Would it be part #19?

Yeah , I new it was a Bosch. at least it's not the tranny. I've wondered about the circlip, but figured w/ 95,000 miles either it was already replaced or isn't something I need to worry about.

Just wonder how long it will take to get the parts from England. I could have just ordered starter parts, but when checking the clutch, it was measured 0.110" min thickness is 0.1722". It shifted rather well w/ a worn out clutch. Will be saving a ton of $$$ instead of ordering in the states.

I mentioned G (slash) S, i.e. G/S, there is a difference.

So , I just gotta ask....
Did you even attempt to price that pinion here in the USA?
$56.00 is not a lot of money. How much is it at Motobins with shipping and possible VAT.?
I think that everyone assumes that ALL parts are out of this world expensive here in the USA. Some are, some are not.
But $56.00??
Come on lets stimulate our economy a little.

I rechecked and you're right the dealer want $56, and motor electric wanted $30, somehow I thought the dealer wanted $100. Might have got it from motoelectric, but after pricing clutch components that I needed there was no way I was going to suffer the markup on those parts. I can't afford that, almost double.....

It comes out to $25 USD, not a big difference, but since I needed the other stuff too. NO VAT outside of UK.

Clutch Price

Harley,

IIRC there is a company in So Cal that relines the clutch disc and surfaces the pressure plates. Recall that it's around $200.00 for the service. Saw their ad in the Airheads newsletter. An alternative to OE pricing.

Found Them:

Southland Clutch
National City,Ca.

SO many threads are just all confusion because of the term "turn over."

So many people use it to mean the engine started.

"Turn over" only means the starter spins the engine.

If it doesn't, the starter is the LAST place to look. 99.9% of the time it's the battery. The fact lights light is irrelevant.

Turn over means just that to me, not starting.
