As well as the headlight and rotor, Looks like the spark plug cover is missing too - not expensive mind you but do check for other missing items. |

Mmmm S
I've had an '04 Randy Mamola since '09 and put about 17k on it touring. The last year or two I haven't ridden it as much as I got an R1200GSA. I had it parked two hours away at my sisters for the winter. A couple weekends ago I was down there and took it out for a spin and instantly fell in love with it again.
![]() I now need to find a way to get down there and pick it up, because I can see riding that a little bit more. Not that I don't love my GS, but there is just something about an S. It's good to see this thread here on ADVrider. Now if I can find a thread about the 1200c I'll never leave this site. ![]() LV

Just so you S dudes know. I have about 3 sets of R1100S barbacks availble.
Not soliciting, just letting you know. This as always may be the last run of these...

I rode one of these last night; first oilhead and first modern BMW I've been on. Like it a bunch, but at 6'4 I'll need a GS if I get an oilhead. Sure are pretty to look at though.

FYI "They set the bars +/- 1.5" back and about +/- .75" higher. They're adjustable concentrically like the OEM bars and as a result, also in some width."

By sportbike standards (e.g., CBR, ZX, etc.) pretty good. By big sport-touring bike standards (e.g., FJR, ST, C14, etc.), not so good. About like a VFR, Busa, etc. I'd never buy an S for extensive two-up, but an occasional ride is fine.

I agree with what Mark said. An after market seat would help but there are better bike options if you do that much 2-up time. Of course allot depends on your passenger's tolerance and size. My 125 lbs. daughter fits it well whereas my wife not so good. There are other Boxers worth considering like an RS or RT that could fit the bill.

Then I would say test ride an S 2-up. A seat change may be all you need.

If she was happy on a CB1000, then she should be ok on the S. The seat is a decent size and the pegs aren't frog leg high, but she will slide forward. I solved that with just a piece of anti-slip kitchen cabinet liner.
All that being said, my girlfriend prefers the back of my R1200GSA better for obvious reasons. But then she's also 5'11.
